Landrieu implies Obama will get superdelegate vote
Landrieu implies Obama will get superdelegate vote

By Greg Hilburn • ghilburn@thenewsstar.com • May 20, 2008

Louisiana U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu said she remains an unpledged superdelegate, but hinted that she would ultimately support fellow U.S. Sen. Barack Obama as the Democrats' nominee for president.

Superdelegates are basically free agents who can vote for any candidate they choose, regardless of the results of state primary or caucus elections.

"I'm unpledged, but my support will likely reflect the will of the state," Landrieu said while in Monroe on Sunday. Obama beat Sen. Hillary Clinton in the Louisiana primary.

Obama is expected to wrap up a majority of pledged delegates today during primary elections against U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton in Oregon and Kentucky.

1. If Mary and Barack
work as a team, the Bayou State will go (D) big time come November. Landrieu is up for reelection. The (R's) have a silly notion that her seat is theirs for the taking. I think not. She is one of the hardest campaigners I have ever observed.

3. You are absolutely correct my friend but
compared to the alternative she is a flaming liberal. None of us can possibly have our ideal makeup in the senate and/or the house.

4. There could be a lot of that going on, BOSS. We can hope!
I do think the rethugs will be going down in flames, and they've 'earned' it.

5. I hope she wins reelection! We need her more than ever!
There is little hope to unseat Republican senators Saxby Chambliss and Johny Isakson here in GA.
We've got a several people running against Saxby so maybe I'll be proven wrong. I currently have two Republican senators and a very conservative Republican congressman, Dr. Paul Broun, son of a former long time Democratic Georgia state senator from Athens, Paul Broun, Sr. My former Democratic congressman and Athens-Clarke County commissioner, John Barrow (D-GA) was redistricted by the GA GOP out of the Athens area to a district in the Savannah area.

7. Horrible Irony of Ironies
the leading (R) candidate for the senate seat is a "gentleman" whose name is John Kennedy.

Hello My Dear. My tomatoes are kicking the weeds asses. (Do weeds have asses?) Off to Kansas for a week to work on Mom's estate; auctioning off her household furniture etc. She was pretty self contained cookie. No muss, no fuss so far. The Misses is doing pretty good.

8. Oy! That is ironic!
You're gonna have some mighty tasty homegrown tomato sandwiches really soon! My Nandina bushes need pruning and the garden needs weeding! It has been so nice and cool here in NE GA! It's really been a treat not to have instant summertime heat in May like we've had for the past 5 years or so! I'm glad Mrs. BH is doing fine during this difficult time for her and her family. Y'all take care and travel safely to Kansas and back!
:hi:
