Issue number one: The war in Iraq.
Sure the economy is slumping. Would you rather live in Baghdad? I wonder if those folks are worrying about their mortages now. Or the price of gas. Or a summer rebate on gas taxes. They might be worried about going to the market and not getting blown up in the process. Or how to keep cool in the 100 degree plus heat with electricity on for only one hour a day. Or how to afford to pay for the funeral of a loved one. It makes the issue of economy here in the good old USA a shameless joke by comparison. End the war! Then worry about the fact that higher gas prices may make it hard to go out to dinner as often. I swear, Americans are very selfish.

1. yup-- and it's going to stay issue number one for several years to come....
Not only do we need to get out of Iraq, but we need lots of different forms of closure on the political process that took us there. The lies, the complicity, the war crimes, the misbegotten foreign policy. The war against Iraq will be the number one political issue for me for years to come.

2. Thanks...I haven't posted this answer for a while:
"IT IS ALL ABOUT THE WAR IN IRAQ!!"

we are reaping the fruit of letting this crime syndicate, executive and congressional, lead us wherever THEY wanted to go...

the arrogance of IRAQ is the arrogance of BIG OIL is the arrogance of MULTI-NATIONAL CORPS is the arrogance of WALL STREET is the arrogance of the REAL ESTATE MANIPULATIONS is the arrogance of PEOPLE WHO KNOW THEY CAN GET AWAY WITH OUR RIGHTS, OUR MONEY, OUR FUTURE...

it IS about the WAR because IT IS ALL WAR...

3. I can't understand why so many people find the whole War so acceptable.
I'm having trouble accepting their acceptance of it. It's Evil and WRONG. People who abdicate their moral responsibility will come for YOU, with less than friendly intent, under the right circumstances.

5. Rationalization is the key to happiness. People rationalize that the
government is doing the right thing. And please don't tell them otherwise, they can't handle it.

Actually how can anyone handle the information that their government is responsible for killing 200,000 Iraqi children and orphaning 5,000,000. This is on our head, each and every one of us. How many terrorists have been killed???? Maybe 20,000?? Let's see, that's ten children sacrificed for every terrorist killed. and 500 Iraqi children orphaned for every terrorist killed.

4. getting us out of iraq is my litmus test
for any candidate for public office. sadly, i live in adam schiff's district, the number one invasion enabler in the democratic party. if this fellow came out with a firm mea culpa for being shrubhole's #1 non-GOP supporter, i would believe in miracles. and then, if schiff were to lead a move to take our soldiers out of iraq forthwith, i would believe in adam schiff.

keep posting this message, panader0, keep at it.

recommended.

6. the war and the economy are linked
think of the billions misspent over there from the get-go... the shock, awe and havoc wreaked on an innocent people in our name and with our tax dollars!

Dumbass voters, media spinners and politicians who separate the two and say its' the economy, not the war, are fucking idiots!!!
