Obama Campaign: "All that they have left" - The Robocalls
Post from Obama HQ Blogger:

By Christopher Hass - Oct 18th, 2008 at 10:28 pm EDT

We learned on Thursday that voters in key battleground states are receiving automated phone calls from John McCain's campaign, spreading some of the most vile smears of this election. But these desperate "robocalls" say more about John McCain and his campaign than they do about Barack.

It was McCain himself who denounced these underhanded and cowardly tactics as "hate calls" after a rash of them helped sink his primary campaign in 2000. The perpetrator behind those attacks: George W. Bush.

3. Robo calls and counter advertising
I think that by showing an ad like this that denounces the calls, yes it make people hear the ad, but it gets other reasonable people talking about it and expressing opinions about it. Maybe even people talking to family members who may be more vulnerable to the negativity of these calls. It gets reasonable people stirred up to action. I think it's a good thing at this stage of the game.

2. I've heard reports of robocalls in other years, but this is the first time
I've actually heard the calls themselves on a news program. Talking about them in no way conveys the actual slime of hearing them! They say sunlight is the best disinfectant!
