Are you looking for shows that are overtly political or do shows that consistently espouse what might be considered liberal values count?
Or are you looking for just news oriented programs?

7. My first thought, too. |

And (if we're talking about non-news shows) I would include ER, which has addressed topics like the war in Iraq, peaceful protestors being violently harrassed, as well as the plight of the uninsured when it comes to procuring medical help and exorbitantly-priced prescription drugs.

One was about the uselessness (and brutality) of torture.
It shocked me to my socks and back again.
However, TV giveth and TV taketh away ... John Munch is almost invisible on SVU these days. :( But Belzer gets to blog more and that's more important.

The last 15 minutes was a piece (!) call 'The Spy Who Quit' featuring a supposed former Afghan intelligence bigwig telling us that we're no damn good unless we stay there for 50 years!
He had a look on his face smugger than Dubya's.
Liberal, my ass. It was pure, right-wing propaganda.

Weeds has a fairly liberal bent. This season they've been making fun of religious fundamentalists. One of the characters has been outspoken against * in the past as well.
