That is why Ann and the rest of the Rush Clone, Bush-Whore right-wing media and the Republican party (the Rovian part of it, which unfourtunatly is most of them now) have become such apt pupils of facist propoganda and media manipulation.

It's not just what they say, but what they also imply.

Ann implies that democrats and the left are inferior to the right and the root of all problems in our country -- she's using Hitlers playbook.

There is a lot of anger here over what Bush and conservatives are doing, the harm they are causing. For better or for worse, this spills over into how individual conservatives are thought of. People here feel that Bush is a dope, and the harm he has done no longer privileges him to the respect that you wish for him and other conservatives.

Non-conservatives (Liberals, radicals) don't have a monopoly on vitriole btw, remember Rush Limbaugh and his attacks (including on Chelsea, how low can you go) and also recall "Mallard Fillmore".

After all this is a woman that endorsed the actions of Timothy McVeigh (her only complaint was that the action wasn't taken against the NY Times, which curiously leads to the question of whether or not Ann was happy about 9/11 given her aparent hatred for the city itself) and suggest in her book Slander that the murderers of abortion doctors were mainstream conservatives whose arrest and prosecutions were clear signs of liberal hysteria.

Coulter's statement is a good example of why I think she and her right-wing fanatic friends should not be labeled "conservative". A conservative is someone who wants to keep most things the way they are, to preserve what they see as good and to discourage what they see as potentially harmful change. These people want to change things! They are motivated not by a respect for the good in the institutions we have, but by a virulent hatred of liberalism and of liberals, and of anyone else who doesn't think like them. The proper term for such people is "reactionary".

If for no other reason, multiple parties provide need checks and balances. If we(Dems) were to go away, there would be total anarchy.
The Rich would force the poor out and do away with any resemblance of social programs, or worker security. There would be no one to balance out authorities. The want Big Business to regulate, never mind a huge portion of our 'American' business are 'Foreign' owned.

When the rich got rid of all the poor and mediocre, they would start taking each other down, who else would be left?
ANN there is other places a country can go besides up!
