Who else has gone down the Memory Hole? |
|
Just like his Stalinist forebears, the Bush administration has rewritten history, making formerly close (very close) friends, advisors, and contacts of the President vanish from public memory.
Ken Lay: Does anyone remember the 2000 campaign? It was Lay's private jet that shlepped Bush around the country! Bush even took a day off from campaigning to watch his "Kenny Boy" throw out the first pitch at an Astros game! Forget, for a moment, the Energy Task Force and the market manipulation: Lay is, or was, Bush's best friend--and now he's a nonperson (though of course walking the streets as free and happy as can be).
Ahmad Chalabi: Yeah, we all know about this one. Bush's Man in London Baghdad--now, all of a sudden, "I might've met him on a rope line."
So, who else have the Party unpersoned?

only she's not going quietly.
Karen Kwiatowski, same thing.
Richard Clarke, "out of the loop." Yeah, right.
Paul O'Neill, also "out of the loop." Also, yeah, right.
Prepare to see Tenet also dismissed as not really heading the CIA, just there to answer questions from the press.
