Can Someone Explain Why Conservatives Are So Crazy About F911?
I saw it a couple of days ago. I saw nothing particularly new about it. I don't think anything was false. It was Michael Moore's point of view--so what?

What am I missing here?

3. I think the problem...
is that the truth that so many of us have known for so long is suddenly getting a national audience.

The truth is getting out into the suburbs and middle America and it's driving the conservatives insane.

7. I agree.
For many people, who just accept the news without really investigating it, F9/11 is their first viewing of all these things regulars at DU have known for years.

These people are just becoming aware of how misinformed they have been.

5. The success of F911 ensure that there will be more media
in that vein. Not that there haven't been great books etc in the last 3 years but a theater released mainstream movie is somehow perceived as a much greater threat to their 24/7 cable propaganda "news." They view it as a genie which will be darned hard if not impossible to get back into the bottle

8. It's the first time messages like that
are reaching a mass audience. They have had the so-called liberal media jumping through hoops for years now.

9. Bush has been successful in controling the message
Bush has been able to tame the press corp and to control the message in the mainstream media. If you want to hear criticism about Bush, you either have to search for it, or you have to be a foreigner listening to foreign media. There were several people in the F-911 audiences who have said, "Huh, I didn't know that" or "I never heard that before". Some things surprised me. Loss of control is scary.

12. I hang out on a really conservative board a lot
There have been over a dozen threads started by people who have seen this movie. And each time, the same little group of "experts" post all kinds of garbage, ruining any chance at intelligent discussion. When asked if they have seen the movie, they always say they would not give their hard earned money to Moore. And that they don't have to step in dog poop to know about it, blah blah blah.

The good news is that some of them are running so scared they are having melt downs leading to permanently getting banned.

13. Because
The concept of facts and reality scares them shitless, because they want to live in a dream world in which everyone is a clone of everyone else.

14. Moore tells the truth, so the right wingers all claim in unison that he's
lying. 49.8% of Americans fall for their bullsh*t and vote for Bush. See how that works?

There is occasionally intelligent debate on the GameFAQs War on Terorrism board, but it's also filled with stupid debates with no logic.

It's the only place I know of where both types post regularly though.

16. Can't respond in kind.
The Republicans like to control the message. However, they have been bashing the "Hollywood elites" for so long, they don't have the talent to respond in kind. This is an area of propaganda they can't control. All attempts so far have been lame. Did you see the TV movie about George W's "leadership" in the wake of 9-11? I didn't either.

23. The funny thing is
most of them haven't seen it. My brother was sniping about it the other day, explaining to me (like I'm some kind of an idiot) that it's all lies and exagerrations (what he thinks bush tells, I'm not sure). I said, "have you seen it?" and he got all mad. "NO! and I never will!"

Then how do you know it's all lies?

25. ...
I think it's the twist he puts on the relationship with the Saudi Arabians that the Bush family has as the biggest reason. It shows a relationship exists, but doesn't get the story from the Bush family as to why that relationship actually exists, and leads people to believe we are allied with terrorists.

26. My $.02
Cause not everyone feels Mr. Moore is an Honest American, or his movies are anything more than the propaganda both parties use against each other.

My take on the posting!
