HELP! I need your worst examples of Freeper hate.
I was perhaps not surprised, but definitely outraged, to find an article in my church bulletin this morning from a “right-to-life” group that included the following excerpts:

“It was Sunday, April 25th, the day abortion supporters had chosen to make their march on the Mall. Scattered here and there were pro-life protestors who desired, albeit quietly, to make their presence known…” I doubt it was quietly, but this wasn’t the worst of it. Read on:

“One pro-life protester named Kristinn reported (on the FreeRepublic.com weblog) watching a priest quietly blessing the pro-abortion marchers. She said the response to the priest ‘was nothing short of satanic…’” It went on to detail the verbal abuse this priest supposedly suffered, according to Kristinn.

Setting aside the fact that FreakRepublic isn’t a blog, and Kristinn isn’t a “she” – these are minor points – I was appalled at the fact that my church would endorse a hate site like FR.

The article in question claimed that this particular incident shows the “true colors” of the pro-choice crowd. So I’d like you to help me show the clergy of my church the “true colors” of FR, and particularly of Kristinn. Please either post or PM me examples – with links – to the most hateful, criminal things these monsters have published online.

Thanks in advance for your help.

3. I was at the march, and I saw several priests blessing the
crowd.

No one was bothering them. The most people did was chant more loudly as they passed protestors.

This is not a link, but nothing like that happened.

4. Their absolute worse, involves the wives/offspring of Dem pols/nominees...
Remember Dean's wife, Kerry's daughters, going way-back... Chelsea... remember Limbaugh's "dog" comment towards a then-13-year-old (the young lady who grew up to be a current babe)?

The right is rampant with hate. Hell, that's what keeps them going. That is what drives them, and nobody, no matter how uninvolved, is at their loathing "mercy" (if any such thing, had existed.) There is no "taboo" with these sick f'n bastards.

8. Poor Man...
I used to get angry reading/hearing/seeing such rot as the above. I also wonder why wingnuts, like the true patriot patriot quoted above, all seem to think that if you happen to hold liberal views, you must be a pipsqueak. I've witnessed far-right, aggressive violence on two occasions, and not as spectator; I didn't end up beaten unconscious. Yes, brave Guardian of America, should you "see any one of" us, do try and "kick the living shit" out of us. You'll get a brutal shock. To a liberal, violence is horrible, it is an aberration, only to be used when there is no other resort. But leave us with no other resort, (i.e., compel us to physically defend ourselves,) and you'll get your share.

OK, enough of thumping my hairless chest. Really, I did say I used to get angry at sufferers like the man above. Well, I should have said 'a lot more angry' than I might nowadays. Why? For the simple reason that being that way is its own punishment. The miserable son-of-a-bitch quoted in the above post is no doubt one miserable son-of-a-bitch. In my better moments I try to pity those of like ilk, as hard as it is not to despise them...

End of ramble.

Cheers,

Robert

9. Nauseating!!
Clicked on your link, Denverbill...

I hope to God their aren't many more like them. These neanderthals scare the hell out of me. If one were ever to actually hit a link to the forums of an Aryan Nation website, the only difference would be the lack of the curious 'sympathy' these creeps seem to suddenly feel for (at least Israeli) Jews.

And several times they call her--among many other things--'hateful!!' These people are either mortally diseased or moronically stupid, or both. A few years ago, I would simply have dismissed Free Republic as just a crackpot, fringe entity. (Which it is.) But nowadays--on Fox news or from the likes of Dick Cheney or Tom "Developmental" Delay--you hear what sounds disturbingly like highly watered down, 'sanitized for television' echoes of what you'll find on Free Republic. Scary...

7. Worst example of freeper hate I've ever seen:
http://www.margaretcho.com/attacks_from_the_right.htm

Margaret Cho published all the hate mail she got for being an Asian-American gay-supportive female who's against Bush.

It'd be funny if it wasn't so disgustingly racist, homophobic, mysoginistic, etc.

Bonus points for all the "go back to where you came from" comments made to the American born Cho.

I don't have the exact quote but a they were making fun John Edwards and how they think he's trying to get pity after losing his son (:wtf:):

"And then *sniffle* we lost our son, Jack. But, that's not all! After that, our dog died! And, our neighbor's daughter was killed. There's no way you can know our grief!"

It was sick.

12. Moral superiority
Most of them seem to be convinced that God is on their side just because they can say a passage or two from the bible, sit through church, and support anything that has to do with (Christian) religion. They feel that they are on the "morally" winning team, therefore they can say anything about their political opponents, then protest in horror when something is said about their candidates. Case in point: remember the Trent Lott fiasco? Well, Pat Buchanan went on the air and said something to the effect that he had never seen such a political firestorm over something so insignificant. That this was an example of someone (Lott) becoming the victim of vicious political attack unlike Washington had ever seen. Ummm, excuse me? Bill Clinton, from the day he took office? This "pretend religiosity" is like belonging to a club or a fraternity. ("Pretend" because these people still involve themselves in extra-marital affairs, still abuse drugs, still have abortions, etc.) You get to talk down to anyone with "ad hominem" (sp?) attacks, but should be exempt from these type of attacks yourself. If you are attacked, then that shows how evil the "Libruls" are, attacking a good conservative like that.

The "moral high-horse" analogy doesn't apply anymore. Not when Rush openly talks with his listeners on the air about killing off all the "Libruls." What's scary is that if Bush ever took us down that totalitarian road, most of these people would follow right along and would rejoice in the killing of "Libruls." They might praise the Lord as they do so. Hmmm... remind you of anyone else? Very conservative and morally minded, right? Totally what Jesus would do.

A guy in a big truck comes speeding up behind us, lays on his horn and goes around, getting dangerously close, forcing my hubby to steer to the side of the road (Thank God he was driving, I'd have wrecked from the panic it struck in me.) The guy passes and he's got NRA stickers and Bush Cheney stickers on his truck. He obviously wasn't too thrilled with my Kerry sticker and Save America/Defeat Bush sticker.

15. I feel sullied
I just discovered FreeRepublic.com. I was looking for a forum where real conservatives talk as I wanted to get an impression of how traditional conservative view this administration.

Boy was posting there a mistake. I posted on two threads, one about hate in politics (where the thread starter was quoting Ann Coulter to defend his positions) and one of the swift boat vets.

The replies I got were very imaginitive, mostly biologically impossible and in some cases would have broken the law in several states if the supreme court hadnt recently ruled on Sodomy.

I mean I know there are a lot of kooks on both sides of the aisle but to see it up close, such pure unadulturated hate, it really threw me. I mean I know that the likes of Coulter, Limbaugh, Hannity etc etc get paid millions to push these peoples buttons and they do a good job of it but look at the culture they have helped to create.

An entire political spectrum of people for whom any form of debate is dissent, where dissent is unpatriotic, and non patriots are fair game for threats of violence.

How do you counter that, as it has to be countered, you cant just let this mass brainwashing continue. These people have the perfect right to think what they want and beleive how they wish but their due dilligence seems to consist of blindly beleiving what they are told to and hatefully rejecting any dissenting opinion or information.

I truely despair for this nation with so many people displaying such a poor grasp of the issues and then rejecting anything that counters those beliefs.

The GOP has to be aware that these people are a large part of the core voter base which is why (IMHO) we see such blatant political manouvering from the right, they know that the people that will vote for them either dont care of dont understand their machinations so they have little to lose with such behaviour.

I really feel disgusted.

16. Here's a Classic. And 100% true.
Edited on Thu Aug-12-04 09:50 PM by HarveyBriggs
A while back I met a young woman who had made a reckless mistake with a young man, and ended up pregnant.

She made a brave choice to keep the child, and told the father that a one-night stand shouldn't condemn the both of them to a life of marriage. Upon hearing that, he split for who-knows' where.

She was poor. And on food stamps. And being the christian guy pro-lifer that I was, I agreed to help her out from time to time. To me, she had made the right choice and the least I could do was help her out. Certainly whatever had happened was not the little baby's fault.

Seeing that she had no car, I'd volunteer to take her to get groceries. I was in college at the time, and was making pretty good money on the morning shift at UPS. Enough that I could afford a brand new pick-up truck with all the good stuff. And it did not hurt to lend a hand when I could.

One night in the check out lane of the store I heard a couple behind us complain about this young woman and her food stamps. I stood between her and them with my own groceries. And, being that I was doing OK with my job at UPS, I did not skimp on my grocery shopping the way this young unwed mother had to do. She paid for her groceries and waited for me with mine so I could take her back to her apartment.

We got to the parking lot, and started covering the groceries in the bed of the truck when her little baby was hit by the first egg and started crying. Then another one came and hit her. And as I turned to see who was doing this, I was hit.

They were the folks behind us in line. I felt like kicking their hind ends a good one as they jeered about the "welfare truck," I was driving, and the "welfare steaks" and "welfare beer and wine" I bought and threw more eggs.

It wouldn't have done any good to fight, though, in fact it wouldn't have done any good explain the situation. These folks had their minds made up, and the young lady wanted to leave. Her baby was bruised a little and very frightened.

The worst part of the situation was, I recognized these folks from some "pro-life" meetings I attended as part of a church group.

As I wrote earlier here, I was helping a young lady who in my mind made the right choice. That incident was the first of many that exposed me to the deep hatred that drives the thinking inside today's conservative movement. I still call it an awakening.

On that day, I stopped being politically "pro-life" and became "pro-choice." I realized that there had to be people who supported what I believed to be the right choice, or young women would never make that choice. And it started becoming very clear that day that the "pro-life" folks were more interested in cultivating their hatreds than they were making a place in this life for a beautiful new life.

It changed me a lot. And, it changed the way I looked at my friend.

I married her 18 months later, and adopted the little boy a year after that.

Last week that little boy, my son, turned 30. And I still think his mother made the right choice.

23. My Experience With The Free Republic
Edited on Wed Aug-18-04 09:25 PM by jackieforthedems
Last Fall, I began posting on the Free Republic site, as I was very active in advocating for Terri Schindler Schiavo(the disabled Florida woman whose husband wants her g-tube pulled so that she can die and he can get on with life with a new woman that he already has 2 children with). I have 2 sons, one happens to be a disabled child - so, Terri's situation is close to my heart. I really didn't realize, at first, that Freepers is a Republican site. Anyway, I was absent for most of this year, as my disabled son had an extensive leg surgery last October, and this June 15th, he had the second part of his surgery, and now things are finally just getting back to normal. Anyway, I went back to the FR site, and made a posting regarding my feelings on the John Kerry abortion/Communion issue - basically, that although I am a Catholic, too, and although I do not support abortion myself, I was still voting for Kerry, and still taking Communion. I also mentioned my views on George Bush, etc... Well, all hell broke loose. I was called everything from a bad Catholic to a heretic (demon) to you name it. I couldn't believe how I was attacked on that site. They sent me photos of black cats and people being beheaded, etc... Real religious folks over there alright. What disturbed me perhaps even more, though, was that you couldn't reason with these people at all. They were so narrow and closed minded that I swear, if George W. told them all to hold hands and to jump a bridge together, they'd do it with no questions asked. In my opinion, this is how Hitler got away with exterminating the Jewish people in WW II - I could see how easily people can be brain washed, no longer having minds of their own or opinions of their own. Most of them thought that the war in Iraq was fine and dandy, although I tried to talk about "thou shalt not kill". Most of them said that the Democratic party was the most un-Godly, etc... party of politics. It's funny, but the Repubs always start the wars and the Dems have to finish them. The Dems are less judgemental, but are considered un-Godly for giving Americans free will in some cases. Nobody seemed to think that cutting benefits and aid to the disabled, elderly or veterans was a big deal either. How Christian-like to ignore the less fortunate, in my opinion. I could go on and on. I was known as: sisterjforteri over at Freepers. They may still have my postings on the site - I am not sure. They said my comments gave them the chills. Oh, well. In my last post to them, I finally told them what I thought of them. I said that I was glad that I was not one of them, with their mind sets and all. I would never vote Republican in my life after finding out firsthand how they really are. I am glad my parents raised me to be open minded about everything in life! I urge you to visit the following websites: http://www.prolognet.qc.ca/clyde/camp.htm, http://www.olivetreeviews.org/articles/New_World_Order.shtml#newsitemEpZFpVkkFyDFLvulRg, and also to check out sites under: REX 84-FEMA and American Holocaust. I am not sure if some of the stuff is just propaganda, but it's certainly food for thought, and should be considered with this upcoming election. The Bush family has a connection with Hitler (Prescott Bush, the grandfather), and you probably know about the Bin Laden/Bush connection, too. Personally, if a true Christian thinks it's better to help usher in a one world government into the U.S.A., then God help us all!!!
