From a poll on another board about the presidential election:
"Bush did not do too well. There were many places were he coul have ended it all for Kerry but for whatever reason did'nt. On the other side I think Kerry was pretty damned polished. Too bad I don't believe a damned word that comes out of his mouth. When he mentioned Ronald Reagan as being a great leader I almost puked. Kerry voted against every military advancement put forth by Reagan. If had been up to Kerry we would all still be in the cold war because he supported a nuclear freeze. No, this debate won't sway me from voting for W. Kerry would have to pull a pot of gold out of his ass for me to even consider it. I know if he gets in he'll try to pull a pot-o-gold out of mine. Kuck Ferry."
In practically everything political this guy posts, there's this undercurrent of bitterness that makes me half want to shake the guy by the shoulders and say "are you alright dude?"
also, this guy hasn't really said he "is" anything. another guy-- registered Republican, born-again, conservative, whatnot-- used to be on those boards, but recently has stopped (lives in Florida-- wonder why), who's totally respectful of anyone's political position, which makes me wonder just what the fuck is the fundamental difference between the first guy, who also boldly proclaims "the liberal/socialist media bias in this country is staggering," and the other guy, who'll call himself an ignorant, low-brow Republican if he doesn't understand someone's perspective.

2. it seems like one is more honest than the other. |

As Voltare said, I may not agree with what you say but I will defend to my death your right to say it. I think this is the principle the other person suscribes to.
Ignorance is no defense, but its abundant all the same.
