I think the RW Christians who never vote got out and voted. |

They were told by their church every Sunday and then some, to go out and vote and who to vote for all based on "values". I think that is what defeated us. As far as I'm concerned, I will be happy to let them be led by the pied piper and actually see the devastation that will be caused by this political movement.
Unfortunately, we will have to suffer along with them. I feel good not not to have fallen for the lies, and the false sense of values that they have preached. I fought as hard as I could this past year and I will not be shamed. I don't really think the Democratic party is dead. All it will take is time. We are a one-sided run government and I'm sure it will give the right a chance to prove how no balance in government is detrimental to society. It's just going to take some time. I'm so glad I'm not a part of it.

I don't think the Dem party is dead, either. We suffered a tough defeat, but we've been around for 200 years, and we're not going anywhere. The Pied Piper analogy is very appropriate. I see Bush' second term as nothng but a disaster for everyone.

On Sunday, a frequent churchgoer told me that their minister intentionally lied to his congregation.
There were probably thousands more ministers.
He told them if Kerry won that he was going to push legalization of gay marriage--something Kerry never did.
I guess for some of these fundamentalists the ends do justify the means.

7. I agree...public is funding the Repub Party through the churches |
|
We have GOT to have someone look at this from a legal standpoint and see if the tax exempt status can be taken away from the abusers.

4. They were told who to vote for, of course. No independent thinkers there. |

You are absolutely right, imo. Bush won by the Sheep Vote (these easily-led morons call themselves "the flock").
And yeah, I am angry that I will have to suffer because of their asinine ideologies. They don't even care about their own survival, let alone mine or yours. All they want is that stupid rapture.

5. Fear was the motivator |
|
Fear was the motivator for evangelicals & anti-gay people. Fear is a difficult motivation to counter. The Dem. Party needs to come up with Plan B NOW.
