According to Bush's "victory" speech yesterday, he plan to uphold "our deepest values and family and faith.”
Does anyone know what he means?
I hope the Republicans do not try to push a theocracy down our throat.
He needs to uphold the values of the founding fathers and not the Pat Robertsons of this world.
“I have sworn upon the altar of God eternal hostility against every form of tyranny over the mind of man.”

1. Yes, he intends to establish a theocracy |
|
He's been pretty clear about that so far.

2. To me, it's only a matter of time. |

The first thing that they will do is put in Scalia as Chief Justice, and appoint a conservative nominee. This will negate the function of the Supreme Court, which is to protect the minority from the tyranny of the majority. Scalia doesn't even recognize a wall of separation between Church and State. Prettty soon, school prayer will follow, with great pressure on kids to engage in fundamentalist evangelical Christian prayer, to the exclusion of demonstration of any other faith. And displays of Christian symbols will be everywhere.

don't kid yourself for a moment to think that these thugs are going to play fair and be rational. that's simply not part of the game plan, the game plan, which is a theocratic police state.

4. Were doomed in 2006 if we get repuke Supermajority in the senate. |
|
We will lose everything to them. They will have the court stacked. They will be able to pass any law they want.

5. First thing that needs to be done: support remaining Dem senators |
|
Make sure there is a strong grassroots organization remaining in those states that still have Dem Senators. Make sure they know we have their back and they need not fear voting against the machine. We should have all backed up Daschle, now this is the least we can do. Even those who had questions about Daschle should have recognized the symbolic value of the Republicans shooting him down. Bush *targeted* him, for being "obstructionist" and he will do that to any senator who stands in his way, especially the leaders. I feel guilty for not sending Daschle money, even knowing this. Too late to help Daschle, but we need to be organized just to make sure to hold on to what we have, and make sure they vote their conscience without interference from the Republicans.

6. It means they're getting ready to purge the country of those of us |
|
who do not subscribe to their version of "values".
It means the Republic of Gideon is on its way.
and yes, it means theocracy.

it's a little long but scary as all hell. These people are nuts. The religious right are trying to get deep into our government and their end goal is to bring about the end times. http://www.grist.org/news/maindish/2004/10/27/scherer-christian/

8. You know, I've never been a doomsayer. |
|
I'm more scientific and just not an over reactive type of person, but I have never been more concerned about the direction of this country than I am now. It isn't the basic Bush policies, it's the religious right that has a choke hold on our government and it doesn't look like their gonna let go until they can bring about end times. They all belong in a padded cell.

that these religious right idiots cannot be changed. They believe they are sooooo right and you are sooooo wrong, and their willing to do whatever it takes to get rid of you so you can't infect anyone else with views that stray from the born again path. Once they get into our supreme courts, you're gonna see a very different America than you've all grown up in. It will be far worse than you can picture.

I have "debated" these unreasonable buffoons and I know what you are talking about! There is no compromise or even dialogue with them. They do not believe there can be middle grounds. Their world is b & w. All the libs on here who think we must be nice to the rethugs are fooling themselves. Rethugs will simply spit in your face after laughing at you for being weak.

13. They only view compromise as a way to change you. |
|
They'll discuss and debate and even be polite, but just when you think you've found some middle ground, you discover that you have moved to the middle and they are still planted where they were to begin with. Then when you complain, they use that as proof that we just can't be reasoned with and as justification for refusing to compromise. Or worse, they look at how we tried to moderate our position and accuse us of "flip-flopping," sound familiar?!
I know all of this first hand thru my experiences with religious and denominational politics, and conservative Republicans operate in the same manner (in fact, its the very same group of idiots!)
You'd have better luck teaching a pig to sing than you would in trying to reason and dialog with that bunch!
