Interesting comments from a conservative |
|
who also happens to be my dad. We were discussing the election and he expressed his opposition to the war eventhough he voted for bush on "morality" I told him, "Oh you don't like that war? Well you voted for it - TWICE" "No I didn't, I voted to get some morals in this country" I tried to tell him it's a package deal but he wouldn't accept that. Just thought that was interesting how you can disassociate like that. As if a vote for Hitler could be a vote for the trains to run on time and the rest of that is just incidental!

Your dad's been GOP body-snatched.
He's a clone now, his soul posessed, his brain committing Orwell double-think.

4. Like the kind of hypocritical Christian morals that say.. |
|
RIGHT TO LIFE! and gleefully grin at babies torn apart in Iraq?
Those kinds of morals?
Fuck their morals and fuck religion.

5. More "Moral Majority" rhetoric |
|
This happened back in the day with Ronald Reagan too. People got brainwashed and started to spout crap about going "back to morality". Its just a Pavlovian trigger that has been implanted in the minds of tens of million of Americans. What's truly sad is how many people cannot get past this manipulation. We've been reduced to a dog, a dinner bowl, and a bell.

6. Voting for morals by voting for a man who |
|
Was (and still may be) an alcoholic and a drug user.
Is guilty of insider trading.
Started a war based on lies and cherry-picked "intelligence".
Was twice busted for DUI.
Flipped of the camera in a debate prep, and whose Vice President told a US Senator to "fuck off" on the floor of the Senate.
Allowed his friend Ken Lay to defraud investors, employees, and an entire state out of millions of dollars.
Decided to take an unprecedented monthlong vacation rather than read memos warning of a terrorist attack, and then failing to act once the attack was under way.
Yeah... morals.

7. Bush gives this country morals? |
|
Even if I BELIEVED that Bush and his ilk were TRULY moral people (which I do NOT), I wonder how naive someone has to be to think that having a moral man in the White House is going to cure all the moral ills in this country. The best we can do to bring back morality is to live by example and teach our kids right. They seem to have completely MISSED that point.

8. They're told the Republicans are the moral party by the religious right, |
|
Fox News, and talk radio. They also remember the dark sides of Bill Clinton and the Kennedys but know little or nothing about the Republicans' own moral failings.
That sums up why they think of the Republicans as morally superior.
