Dr.Dean and Grover Norquist on Expiration of Bush tax cuts. |
|
I rarely watch CNBC but came across this discussion this morning. Mark Haines buries Norquists and exposes his lies. Watch Norquist try and blame Obama, Pelosi and Reid on data from 2008 before Obama was in office. http://www.cnbc.com/id/15840232?video=1569876376&play=1

1. I watch Squawk just to listen to Mark. After that show I usually lose interest, but |

I do like watching him keep the opposition lies off of the tube.

4. starving the other beast. |

When republicans call for tax cuts and smaller government, they are adhering to a strategy of “starving the beast”, where deficits are purposely created to require cuts in social programs, which they believe make the Democrats popular. Remember the “Deficits don’t matter” refrain? This has seemed mostly to reduce the ability of government to regulate and control the other beast, the corporate beasts. One could, in fact, make the argument that the corporate beast injected with the Bush tax cuts has become so strong that it is now in charge of government. We seem to be headed toward a corporate run oligarchy, or as one Citi executive put it a “Plutonamy”, a society driven by and for the wealthy with little regard for anyone else. I think it is time to reduce the size of the other beast. Letting the Bush tax cuts expire would be a good first step.
