Deutsche Bank admits to long term fraud, DOJ decides not to prosecute.
Edited on Wed Dec-22-10 07:21 PM by dixiegrrrrl
This:

NEW YORK (AP) -- Deutsche Bank admitted criminal wrongdoing and agreed to pay more than $550 million in connection with its participation in tax shelters that enabled the rich to temporarily avoid paying hundreds of millions of dollars in U.S. taxes, authorities announced Tuesday.

and this:

In court papers, the Department of Justice agreed not to criminally prosecute Deutsche Bank for any crimes related to its participation in a broad conspiracy to defraud the Internal Revenue Service.

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/Deutsche-Bank-to-pay-over-apf-3257528524.html?x=0&sec=topStories&pos=8&asset=&ccode=

Long term, extensive tax fraud. No criminal penalties.

Is there anyone who STILL thinks the Feds are not wholly owned subsidiaries of the banks?

edited to add:
($550 million is approximately 1.5% of the firm's market capitalization of $32 billion.)

At this point, it's revolution or the boot on the face forever. There isn't even a pretense of justice anymore.

:(

It is open warfare against the poor. x(

And our so called Justice System is the army fighting against us. Our Democratic Administration is supporting this war against us.

We are all guilty until proven rich.

EVERYTHING, and I mean EVERYTHING is just peaches and cream all over DU.

I guess if we can have a little sugar with our totalitarianism then it's okay! :grr:

3. Me. I don't think the DOJ is wholly owned by the banks.
I think the Defense Industry and Big Oil are also in for some big chunks.

9. Right. The DoJ is owned by a consortium of the biggest corp's.
All the layers of law enforcement exist to preserve and protect wealth and ownership. And to punish poverty.

Poor people will never get the privileges that rich people get to call rights.

5. We KNOW the Feds are wholly owned
subsidiaries of the banks, lock, stock and barrel. Lady Justice has been turned into a high priced courtesan. Pay for the crime and you are off Scott free, can't beat that.

HUGE leap this year.

PLUS, Deutsche Bank got $11.8 billion from the government TARP,
( that part of the money OUR government gave to pay for AIG credit default swaps when AIG went under).

than we've had under the last two administrations. I'm very disappointed in Halter.

16. His name is Holder.
I point that out because he has not "halted" anything that would help us.
He seems to be "holding" fast to same old Republican values.

17. Reagan's AG Edwin Meese was as worthless as tits on a bull
Edited on Thu Dec-23-10 11:39 PM by Art_from_Ark
His main claim to fame was the "Meese Porn Commission" (which featured testimony from some guy who claimed that masturbation forced him to commit deviant sexual acts), and his famous quote "Of course a suspect is guilty-- why else would he be a suspect?"

And then there was Nixon's AG, John Mitchell, who made the famous quote "Katie Graham (of the Washington Post) is gonna get her tit caught in a big fat wringer if that (story about Mitchell's slush fund scandal) is published."

15. Justice for all? Anyone remember years ago, a woman in Texas
was jailed because she stole a few jars of baby food to feed her child. She had no money, nothing. They jailed her.

I have never forgotten that incident and hope that she is on her feet now and the baby is a happy, healthy teenager.

Makes you wonder.
