Sen. Max Baucus wants to use drones to kill wildlife |
|
"Our troops rely on this type of technology every day and there is enormous future potential in border security, agriculture, and wildlife and predator management," Baucus said. The aircraft have such advanced sensing equipment they could monitor insect infestations, allowing for surgical applications of insecticides later by regular aircraft, Zinke said. The aircraft even can tell the difference between a wolf and coyote, he said. http://www.greatfallstribune.com/article/20111102/NEWS01/111020305/First-drone-made-Montana-tested-south-Columbia-Falls?odyssey=tab%7Ctopnews%7Ctext%7CFrontpagehttp://www.thewildlifenews.com/2011/11/02/using-drones-to-kill-wildlife/

Never in my 63 years has that kind of thinking turned out to be good for me.

They'll use the same amount of "discrimination" as currently employed between "terrorist" and "collateral damage" elsewhere but no-one will give two shits about this either.

And after the first "surgical application" of carcinogenic chemicals fails, they'll switch to their next best guess about the "infestation" and repeat the process and after that ...
The only thing that's correct in this whole bucket of fail is the subject line: they are *guaranteed* to "kill wildlife" - unfortunately, it is also almost guaranteed that it will do so indiscriminately, dangerously and unnecessarily.
