Moscow to thwart 'Russian march'

Moscow police are stepping up security after organisers of a nationalist
"Russian march" vowed to defy a ban by Mayor Yuri Luzhkov.

The authorities say they will mount extra patrols and deploy 6,500 police
officers in the capital for the march set to take place later in the day.

Mr Luzhkov said last Tuesday that the march would be banned, to prevent
any repeat of last year's demonstration.

Hundreds of ultra-nationalists shouted far-right slogans in Moscow a year ago.

Last year swastikas and Nazi salutes were seen among the crowd, who carried
banners proclaiming the supremacy of the Russian nation.

of the Russian nation. HAHAHAHAHAHA

Hitler considered slavs, which includes Russians, to be one of the lowest forms of humans on Earth.
He wanted to exterminate them.

These idiots are certainly trying to prove old mustache puss correct.

MOSCOW (AP) - Police arrested hundreds of ultranationalist demonstrators
who took to Moscow's streets on Saturday, forcefully putting an end to the
banned protest amid an increase in hate crimes in Russia, organizers said.

In Russia's second largest city, St. Petersburg, police broke up a scuffle
between far-right activists and antifascists. They detained dozens of
ultranationalists for participating in a banned rally there, as well as a
number of their leftist opponents, the Interfax news agency reported.

The decision by authorities in the Russian capital and other cities to
prevent the far-right supporters from marching, and the subsequent police
response, appeared to mark an effort to dispel accusations that the
government is doing little to combat rising xenophobia in Russia.
