Suspicious package removed from Middlebury, IN school parking lot
A suspicious package was removed this morning from the parking lot of Jefferson Elementary School in the Middlebury Community School Corp. on County Road 20.

Superintendent Jim Conner said a woman found the package in her mailbox and put it in her car before bringing her child to school.

The car was moved to the far end of the parking lot until the bomb squad arrived. The bomb squad moved the package to a different location away from the school and planned to put it in an explosive can to see if it will ignite.

The school was not put on lockdown and nobody was evacuated.
