Valerie Plame: What is the damage?
Hanssen, Pollock, Ames . . . really, how are Bush, Cheney, Rove, Armitage any different?

For each case officer, thousands of people provides bits of information and sometimes much more than that. Her exposure rolled up her counter-proliferation network, which may have included thousands of agents, contacts, foreign case officers, nuclear scientists, physicists, biologists, chemists, traders, financiers and so on - all ironically helping the US to stop the spread and use of weapons of mass destruction. Only the damage assessment can reveal the full extent of the harm done to the efforts at counter-proliferation.

If you are an American citizen or foreigner thinking about assisting or cooperating with the US, the outing of Valerie Plame is a direct and dire warning - help the US and you seriously risk disclosure of your identity for political purposes. Who would take that risk now that it has been increased?

The reverberations of the Bush/Cheney/Libby/Novak vendetta might very well be enormous. When the mushroom cloud Bush ominously warned us about in the Cincinnati speech to cajole us into entering the Iraq War finally sprouts over NY, LA or DC or countless other places, heralding a new era of hell, you might very well be able to trace that moment back to the outing of Valerie Plame. That's how serious and sickening this is.

This is treason against the Republic.

2. I agree.
The fact that the press has never taken this seriously as the national security breach that it is sickens me. In addition, we have no idea what the consequences of this have been. For all we know, persons who knew Plame and gave her information may be in jails in foreign countries or even have been killed. And this is all in the name of concocting phoney reasons for a war that has cost hundreds of thousands of lives, and ruined an ancient civilization.

What will it take for us to impeach these criminals?:mad:

6. Greg Palast's 'Khan Job' article mentions pre 9/11 policy shifts at the NSA
and Bush administration sandbagging of legit intel ops seeking to stop the spread of WMD/non-proliferation ops w/in the CIA etc.

(yes, a conservative webmag, gives a devastating blow to the Bush admin !)

""Ptech is used primarily to develop enterprise blueprints at the highest level of US government and corporate infrastructure. These blueprints hold every important functional, operational, and technical detail of the enterprise. A secondary use of this powerful tool is to build other smart tools in a short period of time. Ptech’s clients in 2001 included the Department of Justice, the Department of Energy, Customs, Air Force, the White House, the FAA, IBM, Sysco, Aetna, and Motorola, to name just a few. ""

This outfit is STILL contracting with the WH, FAA, and DOD. What questions should * answer under oath and NOT 'in camera' ?

7. It's a hanging offense.
Even though I do not believe in the death penalty, I wouldn't voice any objections to the guilty people suffering such a fate. Makes more sense to me than Saddam being hanged. He was no where near this dangerous to us, or to the world.

9. Right to the heart of the matter;
"If you are an American citizen or foreigner thinking about assisting or cooperating with the US, the outing of Valerie Plame is a direct and dire warning - help the US and you seriously risk disclosure of your identity for political purposes."

The freeptards just can't get their pointy heads around that.
