Whitefish Bay bans guns in village buildings, other cities considering
http://www.todaystmj4.com/news/local/125607278.html

If you plan on packing heat, you'll have to unpack it outside the doors of Whitefish Bay village hall.

The village is among the state's first to ban firearms since the governor signed the concealed carry bill into law, less than a week ago.

"We were looking at this from a work place safety issue," said Matt Schuenke, assistant village manager.

The proposal was in the works as state legislators worked on the conceal carry bill.

1. The fine citizens of Whitefish should tell them no CC bans.
The phobias of a few shouldn't outweigh the civil rights of the masses.

3. Until. as with many other states,
the state legislators passes a bill prohibiting municipalities from making up their own rules. Just wait, this won't stand for long.

4. "We were looking at this from a work place safety issue,"...
...yeah, because "Gun Free Zones" have proven so effective in the past, right?

5. If their concerned about gun crime in their building... I've hope they considered the fact that
a sign does not stop criminals or people intent on causing harm from carrying guns into the "gun free zone". No armed criminal has ever been deterred by a little sign posted on a door saying that thier weapons are not allowed.

6. Any place that doesn't use metal detectors really isn't gun free.
Whether you want to believe it or not. People who don't care about gun laws don't care about window stickers that say "no guns" either.

If you think no one around you is carrying a gun because it isn't legal, you are very naive and foolish.

9. Wow. They need
to enact a state level preemption law. Make sure that the mayors of tiny little towns have to abide by state law rather than let them cobble together their own little bunch of bullshit restrictions.
