Poacher, Jury Tampering, Felon, Get Slap on wrist.
On Nov. 30, 2010, recent Idaho Republican gubernatorial candidate Rex Rammell shot a cow elk in the Tex Creek Wildlife Management Area north of Idaho Falls. While hauling the elk out, Rammell crossed paths with an Idaho Fish and Game agent who asked to see his license. Rammell produced a tag that had expired in October for the Middle Fork zone (an area a couple hundred miles from Tex Creek). Upon seeing that Rammell did not have the proper licensing, the agent told him that he would have to confiscate the elk.

“You better get your gun out, because you’re going to have to shoot me if you want this elk.”

4. Should urban police also take out guns and simply shoot muggers,
robbers, rapists and murderers when caught in the act?

8. Actually, murderers and rapists caught in the act ARE shot, regularly.
That said, I was engaging in a bit of hyperbole. But seriously, fuck poachers.

15. No friend of poachers here. But I don't want ANY law enforcement officer
thinking that SOP is to blow away any perpetrator engaged in any crime, unless someones life appears to be in imminent danger.

7. Yeah, just dispense with that whole due process thing, and forget about
innocent until proven guilty. Just execute people on the spot for it. Just imagine all the money that can be saved. Hey, how about summery execution for traffic offenses too while we're at it?

14. He was convicted and served 22 years in prison.
Not enough, in my opinion.

But the impression from your post was that he didn't do any time.

Edited on Sat Aug-06-11 04:12 PM by Vanje
He killed 2 cops. Two game officers doing their job.
Claude Dallas made them lay down, their faces in the dirt. Then.
He shot the backs of their heads.

Boom boom.

Boom boom.

Cold.
blood.

Only in Idaho.
Would that guy be walking now.

He is here , in my neighborhood. He is Just down the road from me.
How do you think legitimate wildlife law enforcers think about that?
How do you think their families think of that?

Cold blooded murderer is a fuckin hero.

Only in Idaho.

6. Here is an example of da Punk...
While the vast majority of hunters follow the law, we have this right-wing da punk acting like he can hustle himself anywhere and everyone will swoon in agreement. I find it peculiar that his anti-government stink has moved far beyond hatred for federal authority, but apparently includes local & state.

The latter authorities would do well by handing down a better sentence than: Be a good boy for a year and "it never happened."

IMO, this is a better post in the Outdoors group, where hunters and other nature lovers can see what this crud bag is about.

13. Rex Rammell: There Will Be Blood’
Fresh from his guilty plea to criminal contempt, perennial candidate Rex Rammell says “The federal government will fail. It is inevitable.” Rammell also reviews his July poaching conviction, which he is appealing. Rammell, who spoke of the “White Horse Prophecy” during his 2010 gubernatorial race, wrote, “It has been prophesied that there will be 'blood in the streets.' Fathers will turn against their sons and sons will turn against their fathers. Mothers will turn against their daughters and daughters will turn against their mothers. People will be starving. Crime will become rampant. America will be on the verge of crumbling to pieces.” His opinion piece may again draw on the prophecy, attributed by some to Joseph Smith, that the Constitution of the United States would “hang by a thread” and be saved by elders in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, of which Rammell is a member/Dan Popkey, Idaho Statesman. Not as often as I do OHV bubbas, but the hunters are still coming around. I also call DFG and they can get through the gate on to the property.
