3-Year-Old Shot, Killed Next To Baby Sister

PITTSBURGH -- A 3-year-old boy was killed after suffering a gunshot wound to the head in Homewood early Tuesday morning.

Zymiere Sewell was in a room with a 1-year-old girl in an apartment on Tioga Street when he was shot just after 1 a.m., Pittsburgh police said.

"Apparently a 3-year-old child in a bedroom was shot in the head and was pronounced deceased at the scene. We're still trying to piece together exactly what happened that led to that child either having access to a gun or being shot by someone inside with a gun," said Cmdr. Thomas Stangrecki.

Investigators said they are searching for 18-year-old Gregory Dalton in connection with the shooting. Police said they want to speak to Dalton, but did not say that he was directly involved in the shooting.
