The Fast and Furious dealers reported bad sales and ATFE paid no attention. They let the sales go through.

Department of Justice Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives Information Collection Request Supporting Statement 1140-xxxx ATF Form 3310.12, Report of Multiple Sale or Other Disposition of Certain Rifles
The paper referenced and linked above is a “Supporting Statement” for the Information Collection Request requiring licensed dealers and pawnbrokers in Arizona, California, New Mexico and Texas to submit information concerning multiple sales of certain rifles. My point in clarifying is, that the OP thread title implies that this is an “ATF Report of Multiple Sales” which it clearly is not. “Wow! Four whole cases since 1975” doesn’t mean much for most of us, for a couple of reasons. How many are in a case? The Statement gives four EXAMPLES of the ATF successfully using the reported multiple sales of handguns, to the same purchaser, to detect, investigate and prosecute firearms traffickers. That they use four examples of investigations that yielded as you call it FOUR WHOLE CASES doesn’t mean they didn’t confiscate another hundred cases and get another herd or gaggle of convictions.

4. Four *cases*, not incidents. |

While I do believe the number of times people legitimately buy multiple firearms in a week is low, I surely suspect it has happened more than 4 times since 1975.
