While he's talking about supporting the Park 51 project, he's also spying on Muslims as potential terrorists.

While talking about lowering crime, he's making sure to keep average New Yorkers defenseless, but the wealthy and well connected can have all the personal security they want.

While advocating for gay marriage, he's secretly making huge donations to anti-gay-marriage Republican state senate campaigns.

And people say he's not a Republican.

Keeping the average NYer defenseless with no gun rights isn't exactly a conservative position. He endorses a lot of Democrats as well. He's what I call a limousine liberal.

In other words, guns only for white people. And in the cities, only RICH white people. That's the reason that open carry of loaded firearms was banned in California--to disarm the Black Panthers. And who signed that ban? Ronald Reagan. It's why the Sullivan Act was passed here in New York: no guns for Italians. It's why in the deep south until relatively recently, you needed a permit to own any kind of gun--to let local law enforcement filter out the "wrong" people, meaning black folks and anyone who wasn't a "good ol' boy."

Bloomberg gives lip service to liberal positions, but at the end of the day, it means fuck all to him, whether that's gay marriage or civil liberties. He doesn't even deserve to be called a limousine liberal.
