Update on Minneapolis slain robber
From the Minneapolis Star Tribune:

We could learn in days if a man who shot a robber will face criminal charges.

The case now goes to the Hennepin County Attorney's office, which will determine if a crime was committed. The witness, who has not been publicly identified, was held for questioning and released Friday

The comments on the article are not favoring the robber.

1. I doubt they'll prosecute. They'd never find a jury willing to
convict.The actual events are irrelevant.

4. They probably could. This was not a case with a clear threat to
anyone's life. He said/He said is the only evidence, really. The problem would come at trial. A jury would likely have someone on it who would prevent a guilty verdict, and the DA knows that. Or the "County Attorney" as they're called here in MN. That's why they probably won't prosecute. There may be a misdemeanor plea for something like discharging a firearm in the city limits, but I don't see any chance of a felony charge of any kind. It's a lead pipe cinch that someone on the jury would think, "bastid got what was coming to him...." and Bob's your uncle.

5. I was just reading his brothers "Justice for Darren Evanovich" FaceBook page.

With the exception of a few 'thug life' types, he's getting his ass handed to him big time.

I don't know which is scarier... that people like this are allowed to breed, or have access to a computer...
