4. More backlash! A 42% increase in FOID applications! |
|
That means that a huge number of Illinois residents discovered how fucked up our system is when they went to look at buying a firearm and were told they couldn't be trusted to even touch a gun in a store without a current FOID card.
Currently it "normally" takes from 5 to 6 weeks to get a FOID card approved, but it's not unusual for it to take 2 or more months like with my daughter, school teacher, perfectly clean record etc., but still almost 12 weeks from the time she mailed it in.
So in addition to record firearm sales on Black Friday there will be another big sales number in 6 to 8 weeks!
I've been in a local store (Rinks in Lockport) when a man without a FOID came in to buy a shotgun for home defense. He had no idea what the law was and thoguht you could just walk in a buy a gun. He was really pissed off and ranted until the owner explained to him the Illinois laws and gave him a FOID applications and a free photo session. She also pointed out to him that Illinois is the only state with a FOID card and many of the politicians were exempt from these laws and some of them even had CCW rights.
I bet that will have an impact on their voting habits as well, as they begin to realize that the current crop of politicians doesn't trust them. Better wake up Madigan, if you want to stay speaker of the house and keep your daughter in as AG!
Ah, more of that backlash we've been promised.

8. It may help with the burglary numbers, |
|
but with the restrictions on concealed carry, it will probably take a while.
