It's a bit odd that the people who show up in this forum to rag on well-meaning posters
who are genuinely concerned about the truth regarding 911, bother to show up at all.

If they don't have the open mind to consider 10 long years worth of lies and coverups, why would they bother to even come to this forum?

Are they trying to change minds.

Are they trying to be 'right'?

Are they stirring the pot?

Or just crying out for attention?

Why bother?

This is the worst place on earth to come in and try to change people's minds.

2. I have to assume that some are paid.
Isn't that what we should assume, on any Internet forum, when we know that entities recruit and pay posters to promote or denigrate certain memes?

3. LOL
yes, because if the truth got out in a little corner of an internet forum, the whole operation would collapse!!!!

13. yes!
I am paid to post that I don't agree with crazy truthers!
However, since BUSHCO has been out of office, they are late with the checks.
I think I might just go rouge and blab about the mini-nukes!
After all, if one doesn't doubt that 19 hijackers from a terrorist organization flew planes into buildings causing their collapse, then the only reasonable assumption is that that person must be paid!!!

19. Since no one seems to give a shit about 9/11 Truth.
just who do you suspect is writing the checks?

And just think, every time you engage with us, you hear a little 'cha-ching'. How does that make you feel?

21. Why the "LOL" ??? Making left/center web sites unpleasant is a rightie SOP
That's why there's a Leadership Institute and their recruitment operation. Why they have been getting $8,000,000 a year above the table. How they recruited Rove, Breitbart, O'Keefe, etc. -- the dirty tricks criminals.

"Digg Patriots" and tracking the ongoing DailyKos attacks is easy enough:

Progressive sites and shill accounts -- Digg and DailyKos -- in the ActivistHQ thread here at DU

Hundreds of shills and rightie volunteers sliming left/center sites -- no problemo !

There's never a shortage of authoritarian sociopaths.

23. the LOL is based on extensive experience
Many of us have been falsely accused of being paid shills more often than we can remember. It is sometimes unpleasant, often just funny, but it isn't apparent that our accusers are "rightie(s)." In principle, they might be shills paid to discredit the idea of shills by running it into the ground. But I doubt it.

It seems quite plausible that there could be paid posters on DU. For me, that doesn't provide a basis for sympathizing with the OP.

4. So, you believe highly implausible things for no good reason
... and since nothing could possibly change your mind, you can't understand why anyone would bother calling bullshit on it?

And this is your definition of an "open mind"?

15. Yes, well, imagine how much less he'd make if there weren't threads like this!

You could starve us all by not contributing here. Some of us have had to resort to paying a commission to some of the other posters to post crap here.

Keep up the good work.

24. That would be your M.O. No matter what is presented to your M.O.
type you just discount it. Doesn't matter if it's a previously recognized authority or not. Once they disagree with you they become no longer valid.

25. "previously recognized authority"?
You mean, someone like, say, Zdenek Bazant? Or an institution such as the National Institute of Standards and Technology?

If someone who had no idea what we were discussing had to come up with a list of previously recognized engineering authorities, would s/he be more likely to mention Bazant, or Richard Gage? NIST, or the International Center for 9/11 Studies?

Is it possible that you have a teensy-eensy case of projection?

5. I only drop in from time to time, mostly for amusement value. However,
Skinner does run a good site and I feel compelled to push back on crazy bullshit from time to time. I also find the conspiratorial mindset interesting and have a few theories of my own on why some people will believe any nonsense that comes along.

6. Actually, your post reminds me of a cute cartoon I saw...
I can't find it now, so I'll paraphrase it...

Wife (to husband who is typing away furiously): Honey, come to bed.

Husband: I can't. Someone on the internet is wrong.

7. We of course know the "handles" of those that try very hard to shut down the discussion's of those
that don't believe the official (original) story of 911. I am so disgusted with how the first responders of 911 have been treated in the aftermath of 911, I can't put it into words.

No one will ever convince me that 911 was not ("A done") job as in Administration insider.

12. I find it odd people are expected to question 9/11 but not anything related to it.
Why is that? Why is it we are all supposed to question 9/11, but not every fucking conspiracy theory thrown out?

I wonder the same thing... Why IS it that so many people come to this forum to rag on well-meaning posters?

Some even accuse the well-meaning posters of being paid trolls.

17. It's not odd at all.
Edited on Mon Sep-12-11 01:42 AM by Major Hogwash
It's by design.

Tremendous efforts have been made to cover up the actual causes of the attacks on 9/11.
Huge amounts of money have been spent to try and bury the evidence.
There is no way that anyone can say that Bush's official excuses for 9/11 are even plausible.

The Attorney General John Ashcroft, had stopped flying on commerical jets in August of 2001.
Vice President Cheney was in the bunker in Washington 20 minutes before the 1st commercial jet hit the New York WTC towers.

President Bush and Vice President Cheney would only testify to Congress if they didn't have to swear an oath to tell the truth first, no recordings of any kind, audio or visual were allowed, and no official transcript would be taken of the lies they told that day.
What kind of a country allows a King to testify without a transcript being taken?
