1. Maybe we should pin this at the top of the page
for when those inevitable "Obama's in trouble!!! He doesn't know what he's doing!!! ELEVENS!" threads come up.

3. Dem party always had some damn fine hard workers all along...it was the 90s celebrity strategists
Edited on Mon Sep-29-08 12:27 PM by blm
who gummed up all the airtime and sabotaged the 2000, 2002 and 2004 elections from WITHIN their exalted positions in the party by ignoring basic party infrastructure. After 2004 when they all got behind Hillary2008, it actually freed up the remaining Dem stalwarts who have always been in it for the party and country first and enthusiastically served the past Dem nominees and Dem voters and never acted as placeholders for Hillary as the celebrity Dems did.

Plus....
Dean's stewardship of the DNC has given life to long collapsed infrastructures = many of us believe those state party infrastructures were collapsed deliberately in the 90s while all party focus was set up to protect the interest of the Clintons with no concern for other Dem lawmakers or the much ignored states.

4. He said Obama's campaign people were "some" of the best he's seen.
Not the best. I'd say overall he seems to be giving McCain more love in this interview than Obama.

5. Agreed.
I've been especially impressed by the high road approach. The Obama campaign hits back when necessary without using slash and burn tactics.

6. Campaigns aside, does he think McCain a better/more worthy candidate than Obama?
He's another who remembers McCain fondly, through 60+ appearances, when faculties better, and policies not as discredited. Schieffer tilted soft ball in favor of family friend Bush in 2004, but hope he'll give the "very, very smart" Obama equal on this.
