Was 9/11 Really the Fault of the GOP?? Think about this... |
|
Remember during the late 90s when Clinton was bombing Iraq and Afghanistan and the GOP was focused on Clinton's sex life?
Remember the shouts of "Wag the dog" and that Clinton was trying to take focus off of the Lewinsky scandal?
Now, imagine if the GOP had kept its trap shut and Clinton was able to actually put troops on the ground in Afghanistan and capture or even kill bin Laden.
9/11 would NOT have happened!!!

People such as Orrin Hatch (R/Nazi), the "Supreme Allied Holy Commander of the Holy Christian Republic of Utah" assaulting Clinton and obstructing his ability to fight terrorism is a stain on the GOP.
The GOP is to blame for this.

8. 9-11 was preventable, says so in the 9-11 report, I blame Bush.... |
|
...because he and others received the intelligence report in early August saying Bin Laden determined to strike in U.S, but they choose to let it happen and they choose on purpose! Clinton told Bush in the transition before leaving office to place terrorist threats high on the list of security priorities, but Bush took vacations instead. Bush MIHOP/LIHOP. More shall be revealed.

14. I said that along time ago |
|
The people most responsible for the 9-11 attacks were the Repuke congress and their repeated attacks on the president and their repeated "investigations" which caused time and money to be defered from more important issues, like terrorism

17. Millennium Plot was stopped by Clinton |
|
What has Bush stopped? http://hnn.us/roundup/comments/4423.html So it just is not true that Bush was doing exactly the same thing on terrorism that Clinton was. He didn't have a cabinet-level counter-terrorism czar; he didn't have the routine of principals' meetings on terrorism; he didn't authorize Clarke to go to 'battle stations' and heightened security alert in summer of 2001 the way Clinton had done in December, 1999.

Republicans conducted an 8 year, $70MM taxpayer-funded Inquisition into the last popularly elected Democratic President. How many investigations did Republicans instigate under Clinton? How many under Bush?
In the late 90's as the War on Clinton progressed to its dirty climax, Republicans had 200 FBI field agents running down cheap rumors looking for anything to stick. No surprise - Republican partisan politics took priority over national security. It's the nature of being Republican.
Don't forget, too-
(1) Chjeney/Bush shitcanned the recommendations of the Hart-Rodman bi-partisan Commission on Terror. Dick had to have his Iraq Invasion Planning / Oil Field Business Auction (otherwise known as the Secret Energy Meetings).
(2) Bush took tactical submarines off-station in the Gulf. They were tasked for taking out OBL.
(3) Bush took the surveilance drones off-station. Hard to find OBL if you're not looking.
(4) Bush administration mentions Al-Qaeda ONCE publicly, prior to 9/11.
(5) The Bush and bin Laden were business partners in the Carlyle Group. Carlyle Group - "In the Construction / Destruction / Construction Business"

22. We saw "The Hunting of the President" last night |
|
at a theater here in Austin.
I can't remember the exact facts but it was something like this:
Clinton spoke to the UN in New York, and that same day, either the Monica story broke, or Paula Jones sued. I'm not sure which sex story it was, but I'm sure that he spoke to the UN.
Guess what his topic was in that speech?
Yep. The threat of terrorism.
That's keeping your eye on the ball, Republicans. Nice work.

25. The GOP is definitely at fault |
|
but I think that the hard line big stick lack of diplomacy by the Bushwa crowd in the first few months really defined the response of the rest of the world. Created the no help attitudes, the terra, the whole nine yards. This has been a building GOP issue since Newtie the Grinch.
They have "God" on their side, are always right, have the $$$, and the nitwits in Congress like Hatch and DeLay, to write the rules.
