5. Obama-Biden :) Course, the new Dem from California
is from a "heavily Dem area" but still.

<snip>

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- "John Garamendi, California's lieutenant governor and the favorite to win one of the two open U.S. House seats Tuesday, has been well known for decades as one of Sacramento's relentless promoters of liberal issues.

Stu Woo/The Wall Street Journal

California Lt. Gov. John Garamendi campaigns for an open U.S. House seat Saturday outside San Francisco.
.Now, the man who always wanted to be governor of California vows to be a team player on the national stage if he wins a special election in a heavily Democratic district outside San Francisco. Absent a major upset, Mr. Garamendi will be sworn in to office by Thursday, in time for him to cast a "yea" vote for the health-care overhaul plan and finally become a figure on the national stage."

6. Dems lost the governor races, I would rather keep the congressional seats.
Warner and McGreevey winning back when Bush was Prez did not really help the Dem Party as a whole.

8. Nothing seemed to help then..the only thing
that helped were those awful bush-cheney Orwellian years that totally fubared our country and only then did the masses open their eyes..no thanks to the corporatemedia.

7. The Dem's were not given a real good reason to go out and vote today.
The angry Repubs and the older folks who have been scared to death by Repubs about health care and taxes did find a reason to vote today.
