Club for Growth backs Rubio over Crist in race for Florida Senate seat
The Club for Growth’s political action committee announced Monday it is endorsing former Florida state House Speaker Marco Rubio (R) in the state’s open Senate race.

The Club has been sharply critical of the race’s frontrunner, Republican Gov. Charlie Crist, from the outset, and last week debuted an advertisement against him.

Rubio has benefited from an increase in momentum in the polls and fundraising, having raised about $1 million in the third quarter.

Rubio’s ability to win was the main hangup for the group, and Club President Chris Chocola said any concerns have been satisfied.

“Marco Rubio is the real deal, one of the brightest young stars in American politics today, and a proven champion of economic liberty,” Chocola said. “He is a dynamic spokesman for the principles of limited government and economic freedom, and he will make a fantastic senator.”

5. I am pretty sure Rubio would win in a head to head against the D candidate.
I don't know if Crist would run as an I either. He could still pull a Lieberman and win.
