Hey L.A.'s (Lower Alabamians) Be safe!
Edited on Fri Jul-08-05 05:16 PM by bamademo
Who's evacuating and where are you going? It looks like our whole state is going to get rock and roll weather. Hurricanes, floods, tornadoes, oh my!

Edited to explain the LA reference for our non Bama DU'ers.

2. In Bama, LA=Lower Alabama
I've been in 2 earthquakes here in Northern Alabama. Woke up in the middle of the night one time to see shelves rocking and I felt the bed shaking. I thought, "Damn, I didn't think I had that much to drink!". Turns out it was a 4. something.

5. Everyone stay safe!
I heard that Riley has called for evacuation of Mobile and Baldwin counties, and that I-65 will go all northbound up to Montgomery Saturday morning.

Destin/Ft. Walton is under mandatory evacuation south of highway 20.

This is really horrible for the folks near the coast (and even those not-so near).

Crossing my fingers that Dennis won't get very strong again. He dropped down to a Category 2 while passing over Cuba.

6. they're saying up to 80 mph wind all the way up here in Tuscaloosa
I hope they're wrong about that. If not, we'll be out of power for days on end probably. And that's if we don't get blown away.

I wonder if you could heat them over a candle... since I'll be losing power soon and will be without a microwave? ;)

7. I haven't decided yet.
We're on the east side of it, which sucks :P and my husband just called me from drill and said they are probably getting activated for 4-7 days. We already have tropical storm and flood watches up here.
Anyway, if this thing shifts more towards PCB, we'll leave otherwise doubt I'm going anywhere. My parents have been calling and bugging me about getting up there with the kids, but I don't know if we'll really be better off in north Atlanta lol.

20. Is everyone OK? I pushed Dennis to Jeb's state.
Looks like Alabama got a reprive. Surely by now Jeb knows he's the brunt of karmic retribution for 2000. Inherit the wind, sucker!

Seriously, I wish my Florida neighbors no harm but Jeb deserves the hassle.

We owe ya one! Now can focus some of that magic karma on the other brother. Ick. Hey...I wonder what the "G" storm name is for this year... wouldn't that be appropriate?

23. Cyberson!
I'm so glad you are ok! I heard tornado warnings in your county on the radio this afternoon. We lost power for about seven hours, but it looks like the worst - which was far weaker than imagined - has passed us.

:hi:

It really didn't get all that bad here. Though we just got electricity back.

I'm glad everyone made it through without major problems!
