Hey nealmhughes!
Please come here and post some.

I think every post of yours that I've read got me to crying, because I was laughing so hard.

What do you expect with a school full of historians, librarians, English lit, and art and dance majors and grad students? The horror, the horror...
And Grady McWhinney gone to keep all straight and narrow with the League of the South and Forrest MacDonald gone to old historians' rest in the country...the history dept. now rampant with historians who are "Marxist" and "women's historians!" My God! Not the Capstone!

Troy needs to go see Jasmine at her drag show at Michaels...or even better, a night of carousing until day break at the Quest in Bham or just walk thru the district in Mobile from Joachim to Dauphin...

What a sex-obsessed freak. Troy, if slot A fits into tab B and no fire needs be kindled or metal worked, I hardly think an act can be "unnatural."

(That isn't his best post, just the one that got me thinking about him, as I looked at some old posts of mine.)

Just a request, Neal! :)

1. OK, I promise. I have been "researching and editing" which is French for job
hunting, lately!

For some of my finer work, I suggest http://screechingrats.wordpress.com
My penultimate is an analysis of the Republican candidates. Probably my best line is my critique of Hukabe: "No longer fat so no longer jolly."

The Times Daily ditched my critique of the Mormon religion in which I said it wasn't popular where I stays at, due to the fact that the three of the Southern Food Pyramid's bases, viz., alcohol, tobacco, and caffeine are taboo in Mormonlandia, and I had to audacity to suggest I'd rather have my favorite dog share the Celestial Kingdom than a sealed spouse, as I believe most southerners had.

I may be going back to Tuscaloosa in order to persue my PhD: topic of dissertation to be "Creation of the librarian as agent of anti-americanism, from Reagan to Bush II".

Or I may just stay with the indegeneous peasantry up here North-of-the-Tennessee, where at least my worst fear in life is being forced off the road in the mountains and forced to work in a meth lab and buck dance for the chemists' entertainment. But they still are my people! And I ought to be safe if I just avoid anywhere east of Madison County.

2. Come on down.
We need more DU folks in Tuscaloosa!

Sad note though- Michaels and the Chukker are no more. The city in all their stupidity decided to update/remodel downtown. I had to go down to 6th street and toast the old hang outs.

4. I knew the Chukker was gone
Didn't realize they got Michaels too.

Our elected officials seems determined to make Tuscaloosa as boring as possible. :(

I never actually went inside Michaels, but I went to the parking lot, with friends, a few times when I was underage just to watch the drag queens walk inside. And I was slightly disturbed by how attractive some of those ladies were. ;)

I LOVED the Chukker. It was hands-down the most eclectic place in Tuscaloosa ever. Gay, straight, rich, poor, white, black. My kind of place. Is there any spot in town now that approaches what the Chukker was?

5. There will be a daily screeching rats on the Republic candidates starting today!
We began with Mike Hugabe. Not very kind of me, but I did let him in for a skewering, using his own website, and not even most of it.

The Chukkar is probalby still for sale, of course one would need to fumigate for the rats now that it has been empty for a spell, and the old owner offered it to me and a friend for $15K. We were grad students, he might have just as well asked for 1.5 Million.

If I do go back to Tuscaloosa, I guess it is Egan's or nuttin at all. Even my favorite country dive bar, that one out on MacFarland that was an A-frame is shutdown now I hear.

Remember GentleReaders: http://screechingrats.wordpress.com for a lively skewering of Merican politics at its worst and occasional serious copy.
