Well, that election sucked |
|
The Republicans pretty much swept us away.
They won both the House and Senate for the first time since 1874.
Ron Sparks went down in flames. Even Jim Folsom, who I thought would win handily, lost to Kay Ivey, who was responsible for "misplacing" over $400 million in state money.
And Gerald "Bury Them Dang Books" Allen was promoted from the house to the senate.
And they swept the SC races. Even Roy Moore's buddy, Tom Parker, who does less work than anyone on the court, doesn't pay his taxes, and wants to take away a woman's right to vote, was re-elected.
Even Susan Parker, the most honorable person on the statewide ballot, lost her race.
How bad do you think things are going get down here now? I just know they are going to try to find some way to end abortion in Alabama. It wouldn't even surprise me too much if they try to end public schools in the state.
Just think how conservative our Democrats are. They've been replaced by the voters for being too liberal.
What the hell. I hate to say it, but we've got a serious case of stupid in this state.

3. Look to the churches, and then follow the money. |

Throw in a severe case of "The President is Black" syndrome, and there you are.
On the other hand, we won't have to worry about people who ran as Democrats jumping to the Republican party after being elected anymore.
Not for a while, anyway.

Of moving. I'm sick of seeing people vote against their own best interests based on fear or out right bull shit.

Someone else had posted about the 1874 thing also. I did not realize it was so bad.

I've never seen a ballot like that, where you complete an arrow. In Tuscaloosa county, we fill in little ovals, and I thought the system was the same all over, except for Mobile county, where I think they have touch-screen voting.
I didn't check out your entire ballot, but looks like you vote much like I do. I could vote a straight Democratic ticket, and be done with it, but I don't, because I like to vote for each Democrat individually.

12. Yup, that is my actual ballot. |
|
Yes, that is my actual ballot, both sides. We complete the arrow for your choice.
I, too, prefer to mark each candidate instead of straight-party voting. But in this case I could not do a straight ticket because one of my Democratic candidates had an F rating from the NRA, and I could not vote for them because of that.
