(assuming, of course, that they're aren't enough absentee and mail votes out there to swing it this time?)

I'm assuming Christian Hockey Barbie will ditch her day job to go for the big prize.

2. I'm embarrassed to call myself a resident of this state...
We nominate that fat worthless corrupt slug Don Young... and if that's not bad enough, seven felony convictions isn't enough to keep you from winning.

How f'n embarrassing this state must look to the rest of the nation...

6. Maybe not, but Texas never elected a convicted felon.
It takes a special brand of ignorance and contempt for law and order to do that...

It is a complete embarrassment. It used to be that when I told people that I moved back to the lower 48 after a few years in Alaska that I would get responses like, "Oh wow! It's so beautiful there! Did you like it? See much wildlife?"

Since the election, if I mention I lived in Alaska, the response I get has changed dramatically. I've gotten a couple of smirks and eye rolls and one person even came out and asked directly, "So is everyone up there completely ignorant or what? They elect Sarah Palin governor and re-elect a convicted felon to the Senate? What's up with that?" People are starting to have a vastly more negative impression of the state than they had before. It's really sad.
:(

Any word on the recount/election fraud? I still have hope that this is a result of shenanigans of some kind, not ignorance of the people. I hope my faith in (and the world's impression of) Alaskans is restored. Alaska is too wonderful of a place to be run and represented by these criminals.

4. Ken, did you read Shannyn Moore's blog this morning.
http://shannynmoore.wordpress.com/2008/11/06/stolen-election-in-alaska/ It's also posted at Huffington and Alaska Report. There's something very bizarre going on here. I hope our Democratic party operatives get off their butts and do something about it this time. I don't want any concessions until every single vote is counted and every irregularity is explained to OUR satisfaction, not the Republicans'. This is just sick.

5. Thanks for that link. I hadn't read that.
I'd heard Larry Persily being interviewed on Alaska News Nightly last night, and he pointed out the large drop in votes from '04.

If nothing else, you'd have thought Sarah's presence in the race would've boosted both the GOP and "vote for her-she's from here" constituencies".

Also, when I started this thread, I didn't know there were still 60-70,000 votes not counted.
