The Snettisham line got knocked down AGAIN!
Crew Cut The Great(AKA Bill Corbus)had the lines rebuilt after the "one in a hundred years" avalance of last spring in the same avalanche chute, on above-ground towers, and WITHOUT avalanche diverters(which would only have cost a couple of hundred thousand dollars)to protect them.

We're on diesel again. We're going to pay through the nose for electricity 'til it's fixed, again.

Time for municipal ownership under democratically elected management.

1. I saw that on the news, Ken.
It sure seems like something could be done down there to protect your power. Good luck.

2. The Crew Cut That Walks Like A Man(aka Bill Corbus, AEL&P's owner)
has to be forced to change on any of this. He was obviously hoping that all of this would die away and he wouldn't have to do anything he didn't want to do.

3. Well, it's not just about our power situation in Juneau.
There needs to be a real connection with what's happening in the villages as well.

This is a teachable moment about the limits of "leaving it to the market".

4. You are so right.
Sarah and the legislators could have done so much better than handing out that "energy rebate" last fall. They all think so much in the short term.
