This is my open invitation to ALL of you to visit our state. It is really more beautiful than you can even imagine, and we are nice people and not planet rapists -- REALLY.

3. The last 2 real vacations I had were Hawaii & Alaska. |
|
As much I loved Hawaii & as beautiful as it is I would still chose to go to Alaska over Hawaii. It was so beautiful & wild. I would love to live there.

It would be hard for me to live anywhere else. I've been here since 1975 after having lived in Ohio, Colorado, Texas, California and Oregon. This is the best.

8. We aren't planet rapists, but our State Legislature is riddled with 'em |
|
Why can't we seem to lay a glove on those bastards?

of the oil harvest affect the Alaska Permanent Fund?
I wish all the lower 48 and Hawaii too might benefit from such a grand socialist plan!
Serious I do wish it were so.

7. I don't know. People keep asking me that, and I have no idea... |
|
From the way our local news was reporting it tonight, there are still significant hurdles to cross before any drilling in ANWR actually happens. It's possible this may turn out to be only a symbolic victory for the pro-drilling people. I think it's much too soon for people to be lamenting the late, great ANWR.
As for the Permanent Fund, yes, it was a brilliant plan and has benefited all of us up here greatly.

9. It won't raise our dividends. |
|
Those are tied to a five year average of the Fund's stock portfolio.
Since the Bushies were gaming the market down the last couple of years, we are still suffering dividend-wise for that.

10. ha, i just got into the forum... |
|
i've been around for a bit now, and just broadening my horizons, i'm a misplaced alaskan, who misses home greatly, but is trapped in SW Missouri...and at times, i can't shake the tune of the dueling banjos...and i get scared...just, kidding...maybe...:)
