Poll question: The worst cities in Arizona |
|
Edited on Thu Jun-09-05 02:43 AM by demzilla
OK, so where is the last place in the state you'd want to live, even if they were giving away free houses?

2. Before anyone votes, replace "Tucson" with "Yuma" |
|
Tucson rocks and Yuma, well, deserves a shot at this title. Really. I need to vote for Yuma. I need to vent.

Though the make-up is changing due to the development of retirement and family communities. I went out there a couple years ago for a barbeque at a friend's and stopped at the nearby Fry's to pick up a few items. I had the distinct sensation of being stared at and swore I could hear faint strains of Deliverance banjos. I kept expecting someone to walk up to me and ask "What are YOU doing here City Girl?"

14. Should have included: |
|
Show Low Heber Overgaard Snowflake Taylor Pinetop Lakeside Eager
Outside of Colorado City, that area is the far-right cesspool of Arizona. It's full of anti-environmentalist hate group sentiment, newspapers that run puff pieces for Bush forest policies (not on the editorial page but on the FRONT page), newspapers that run regular columns of loony libertarian writings of the Hayek and Von Mises sort, "Get BEHIND American troops or get IN FRONT of them" bumper stickers, and huge, hideous, obnoxious yellow ribbons in every store window. Catron County, New Mexico is right next door and just as bad.
