Wal-Mart Express? Mecum Gets Off and Nina Trasoff Runs for Reelection in Tucson
With the projected money from prop 400 become something like a billion dollar shortfall, Light Rail stations may soon lose there commonsense names and become http://www.azcentral.com/arizonarepublic/news/articles/2009/06/04/20090604metro-names0604.html">corporate billboards.

Metro light rail is considering whether to sell naming rights for its stations, trains and even the entire 20-mile system.

I can’t wait to ride the Wal-Mart Express, or get off at the Penthouse Station (pun).

Keegan, a justice of the peace at the Arrowhead Court in Surprise, dismissed the charges against Mecum this week. In his decision, Keegan wrote that he found Mecum’s arrest from his central Phoenix office on the morning of May 6 to be “curious” since it came nearly a month after the speeding incident, and the crime itself involved a “nominal” fine of $181.50.
