My son said that there was a line outside of the Washington County
clerk's office with people waiting to vote (early) this morning. He said about 95% were requesting and using paper ballots.

1. That's wierd - this is a Repuke area in NW Arkansas
Although, since it is the location for the U of Arkansas, may not be as Repuke as the rest of NW Ark. Does this mean that Republicans don't trust the electronic voting machines?

2. No, Benton County, home of Wally World, is the GOP center...not
Washington.

3. Don't forget Sebastian and Crawford counties
although with that Whirlpool plant closing in Ft. Smith, maybe Sebastian won't be so red this time.

4. Long lines in rural Arkansas
The voting machines are causing havoc in our precinct - with 1,081 registered voters, I was about #330, and had to wait in line for a hour and five minutes - from 5:00 to 6:05. This polling place had 3 of the ESS machines. One had been frozen from 6:30 to about noon, and all of them were extremely slow. We're about 140 miles south of Washington County on 71.

Poll workers all said that this was their last election; when we left, the line went all the way down the hallway in the school building (about 150 feet).

Time to trash the electronic machines and go back to paper trail ballots.
