Obviously, this is not a political topic, nor is it news of any importance. Nevertheless, I get excited about Arkansas things being shown on national TV (i.e., TV shows I can see here in T*x*s) and thought I would share this "news" item.
I will pre-emptively state that anyone who criticizes this thread HATES PUPPIES!!!

From the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, 5/17/04:
DOGGONE FAME: A central Arkansas puppy will be spotlighted Sunday on Animal Rescue, a nationally syndicated show airing 10:30 p.m. on KYPX-TV, Channel 42.
His story begins with a 911 operator calling the Humane Society of Pulaski County on April 9 to report a puppy trapped 62 feet down in an 18-inch-wide pipe on East Toltec Road in Scott. For five hours, the Scott Fire Department, the Lonoke County sheriff’s office, the Humane Society of Pulaski County executive director Kay Jordan, and numerous passers-by worked to free the puppy. KARK-TV, Channel 4 filmed it. During the rescue, 70 feet of PVC pipe was duct-taped together and rope with a noose on the end run through the middle. A borrowed North Little Rock Wastewater Utility truck provided a camera and light on a cable, which was lowered into the pipe so the male German shepherd mix could be seen on the truck’s monitor. When it came time to noose the puppy, third time was a charm. Up he came — covered in diesel oil and smelling like skunk. The puppy, named Odie, had two breaks in one leg and one break in another but was otherwise OK. As soon as he recovers, he’ll be up for adoption.
