Fresno health care forum canceled
Source: Fresno Bee

Conservative skeptics are asking why organizers abruptly canceled a this morning Fresno health care forum with Rep. Jim Costa among its panelists.

Officials at the University of California at San Francisco’s Fresno center — the host — insist last-minute scheduling conflicts compelled them to pull the plug. But doubters wonder if the planners or participants simply hoped to avoid protesters.

Costa’s office said he had nothing to do with canceling it.

... “If there are conflicts, you would have to know about it a couple of days ago, not at 4:30 on the day before the event,” said Visalia resident Eric Hughes, who is with the Central Valley Tea Party, a conservative anti-tax group.

The Fresno health care reform session was not a congressional town hall. Rather, it was organized by the university and was to include Costa as well as other health care professionals, said Brandy Nikaido, a spokeswoman for UCSF-Fresno.

2. Our Congressman, Jim Moran, (D), VA,
was on MSNBC this afternoon and I loved when he was asked about a Town Hall he'll be having here in Northern Virginia later this month.

Jim's an old friend, was once mayor of our little town, and he is known for punching out opponents. He's great. So, when he was asked about the disruptors, he said, essentially, "Bring them on."

"I'll bet our liberals against their conservatives any day," he said, and I just loved him so much.

Jim will NOT tolerate any bullshit. I wish I could be there, but I can't. MSNBC - David Shuster - promised to cover it, though.

August 25.

Jim Moran........................

6. Every two years,
he gets our votes and our money. Jim's been on the wrong side of a few things, but, overall, he's a good, good man.

And, forewarned as he is, he'll have something wonderful waiting for them.

Also, the people around here - we're blue, with some red (retired military) patches thrown here and there - are not going to tolerate outsiders coming in and trying to pull their shit.

August 25. Watch MSNBC, if they carry out on Shuster's promise to cover it..........................

7. Backfire on UCSF Fresno?
The Fresno health care reform session was not a congressional town hall. The conservative asses are just making a stink at a lost opportunity to make raise hell and make the six o'clock news.
