It's happening in California also (anti-union Bill introduced)
Edited on Fri Feb-25-11 07:55 AM by SHRED
Is their any consolation in the fact that we here in California have a Democratic Party dominated State Legislature?
That is my "hope".

Details of AB 961 have not been released yet but my hunch is that it will be aimed at ending collective bargaining for public employees here in California.

A big irony here is that Mansoor was a Sheriff and a public employee union member.
Anyone know his history? His website's details are sketchy at best.
Is he drawing a public pension?

Assemblyman Mansoor introduces legislation to reform California's Collective Bargaining Process
AB 961 would provide public officials the tools needed to balance budgets

Sacramento - Today Assemblyman Allan Mansoor introduced AB 961, a bill intended to reform California's collective bargaining process.

"We cannot fix our State's problems unless we are willing to address public employee unions," said Assemblyman Mansoor. "As a former Deputy Sheriff and former union member, I know very well how the process works. Public employee unions have all the power to influence politicians and taxpayers are left with no one advocating on their behalf."

The Republican Pension Reform Working Group in the Assembly will release details of their final package in the next few weeks, but Assemblyman Mansoor is the first Republican member to propose legislation that reforms California's collective bargaining process. AB 961 would end collective bargaining for pension benefits.

"I stand in solidarity with the courageous legislators in the Midwest who are taking brave steps to do the right thing for all of their citizens; not just public employee union campaign contributors," said Assemblyman Mansoor. "We need to recognize that although union members and their families are hardworking taxpayers, we represent the will of all Californians, not just public employee unions."
