so is Pete Stark a goner?
I've heard that he may be paired up against Jerry McNerney in a district that takes in southern and eastern Alameda County. Unless McNerney wants to move over to Stockton in a very marginal district, he will probably challenge Stark in the primary.

1. I'd think McNerney would be the goner
he squeaked to re-election by 1000 votes, and then only because there was a far-right third-party candidate who siphoned off 10,000 from the repuke.

But see, this is exactly why a billionaire repuke pushed this in the first place: to take away safe Dem seats, which tend to be less safe than safe (read: segregated) repuke ones. :grr:

2. I drew myself a map on Dave's Redistricting App to see what
the districts could possibly look like. It basically has the opportunity to be a 30-23 D map but also to be a 42-11 D map.

5. I just was wondering the other day how long he would be able to hang in there...
I was hoping for forever! But everyone has to go sometime. I'll be sad when he goes. But hope it's not soon.
