Jay Marvin 6-10am AM760 Denver....
Jay Marvin
Monday-Friday 6am-10am beginning Monday, February 28th
Host: Jay Marvin
Jay's website

With Jay joining AM 760 in the mornings, you now have the ability to voice your opinion on a local level....live & local straight from America's most progressive city, Boulder!

A 23 year veteran of radio, Marvin has worked as an FM DJ and AM Talk Show Host in Tampa and Chicago. Marvin is no stranger to Colorado’s airwaves; he previously spent several years as the afternoon host on 630 KHOW. In addition to his work in radio, Marvin also found work as a poet, writer, painter and computer artist.

3. Politics are local.

I heard Morning Sedition this morning mentioning the announcement about Jay Marvin replacing them in Boulder. I still wish AM 760 will broadcast Morning Sedition live for a few hours (4-6am) but have a local broadcaster from 6-10am. It's really important to have local progressive voices on the air to counter all the local franchise talk radio. The national voices are not really going to cover or care too much for the Colorado local issues that the Democrats are going to have to fight for, now that they are the majority in the legislature.

The progressive echo chamber has to have a local presence.

4. They should have replaced Phil Hendrie
I'll really miss Morning Sedition. This decision is awful!

5. yes, i dislike Phil Hendrie...
Edited on Thu Feb-17-05 05:10 PM by buczak
Yeah, I believe they should get rid of Phil Hendrie anyways, but the
8-11pm slot on a local station like 760 would be too difficult to
fill with local advertisers to be able to pay for a local talent.

I'd rather hear Thom Hartman in that time slot.

6. I'd rather have Mike Malloy live in that slot
But I figure they think he's too volatile.

10. I'd Rather Hear Hartman than Hendrie, too...
From the few times I've heard him, and from what I've read in his books, Hartman is intelligent, articulate, has a real message to convey, and has a warm way of communicating it.

"We The People" is great -- I think I should get a quantity discount for the number of copies I've bought and given to family & friends.

7. Bill Owens loves Jay
after all the Owens pole smoking Jay did last time he conned a Colorado station into letting him talk on the air.

9. 2 Shows of AAR - Only One Live
I'd rather hear AAR as it airs in real time - none of this tape delayed BS. No Hendrie, no Schultz - no Marvin.

Didn't Marvin do sports talk the last time he was in Denver? That's what I remember when I was at a radio luncheon and he was there broadcasting live.

11. I'm ready for a Sirius radio
I wanted to sign up a while back. But I waited and now hear that they might merge with XD. So I'm waiting to see what happens. If they merge and still have the two liberal stations and we can get that small portable radio XD offers, I'm going with a subscription.

I had the feeling that Clear Channel would screw the living daylights out of AAR. The bastards. They have more channels here in the area. Let them get rid of something else and devote it to AAR.
