Salazar and Arctic Refuge |
|
I recently wrote the Senator and recieved this response. I know we are often skeptical of Salazar around here, and I found this uplifting, so I thought I'd share it. It is good to see.
Thank you for contacting me regarding your opposition to opening the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) to oil exploration. I have in the past expressed my skepticism of the wisdom of opening up this priceless natural heritage to tap short-term, limited oil reserves. I recently co-sponsored a bi-partisan bill (S.261) to protect 1.5 million acres of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, known as the Coastal Plain, as wilderness under the Wilderness Act. This legislation will effectively make the Refuge "off-limits" to oil exploration and drilling. Again, thank you for letting me know how you feel about this important issue.
Sincerely,
Ken Salazar United States Senator

Now let's just see if he can get his bill passed. Don't you think that * will veto it if it gets to his desk? I just feel depressed today when I look at what these clowns are doing to our country...But I do have a lot of respect for Salazar. He's a lovely little ray of sunshine in the midst of all this gloom.
