Jodi Rell - 80% approval rating? WTF?
Was she in a bubble that isolated her from the ongoing corruption of the Rowland administration? I mean, come on Jodi, it was not 1 small incident of shenanigans that Johnny Boy Rowland had - it was many, many things over his entirely too long tenure as governor. Were you that far out of the loop? Heck, to get outside that big a loop of corruption, you'd have to move to Canada or something.

Gov. M. Jodi Rell has an 80 percent approval rating and is favored over the two great hopes of the Democratic Party, Sen. Christopher J. Dodd and Attorney General Richard Blumenthal, in hypothetical matchups against the Republican governor, a new poll shows.

"Gov. Rell is on an extended honeymoon with Connecticut voters. Overwhelmingly, they approve of the job she is doing," said Douglas Schwartz, director of the Quinnipiac University Poll. "The real question is: Can that honeymoon last until November 2006?"

2. What the f** are they talking about?
I moved out of CT for good after 20 years in July and had never seen the state gov't in more chaos. Has Jodi Rell done anything since taking over? I agree with you that John Rowland has poisoned everyone in his party and that by association Jodi Rell is also responsible for what happened.

3. Blumenthal for Governor '06!
I absolutely love Dick Blumenthal; he's one of the few government officials left who still has the balls to stand up to big business when necessary.

Rell hasn't been in office long enough to do anything, so there's no reason to disapprove... yet.

4. my dream
Dodd runs for governor and sweeps to a 15% point win. Then, he turns around and appoints Blumenthal to his Senate seat and we have somebody younger in the US Senate.

Unfortunately, our state Dems are too nice to challenge Lieberman in 2006.

5. I love him, too
I've met Dick a number of times over the past eighteen years, and have urged him to run for Governor. He's always cagey. The last time (about two months ago) he said he "might."

The trouble is, he's afraid of giving up his Attorney General position and losing the race for Governor and having nothing.

I personally think he'd win in a landslide. He's got more integrity than any other elected official I know of, as well as style and good looks.

Dodd has said he's not interested. Susan Byzewicz (sp?) is, but I don't think she has a chance. I also don't think she'd be very effective.

7. What is wrong with the Gov?
Out of curiosity, what specifically is wrong with Governor Rell?

8. she was John Rowland's right hand woman for 10 years for starters
Was she just blithely unaware of all the corruption surrounding her, or was she somehow involved?

I think her own family has had some minor scandals as well.
