John Jaremchuk wants to limit colors in Elsmere - what an asshole |
|
What a fucking racist asshole. He didn't get his illegal immigrant bill (which worked wonders on tanking the Hazelton PA economy when their racist asshole passed that bill) so now he wants to crack down on the colors of the commericial buildings on Kirkwood Highway. What a fucking joke - if this was any other type of non-ethnic restaurant he probably wouldn't give a rat's ass. http://www.delawareonline.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20071218/NEWS/712180390/1006/NEWS

4. Jaremchuk is just a racist asshole |
|
He won't be happy until he totally destroys the economy like the racist asshole of Hazelton PA did. The mayor of Hazelton managed to get all the extreme illegal immigrant laws passed. Only problem was that the legal immigrants decided they weren't going to put up with it and Hazelton became a ghosttown. Wherever you find a cluster of illegal immigrants you'll probably find an even larger cluster of legal ones - and smartly enough they stick together against these assholes
BTW - welcome to DU :hi:

2. What is driving this nonsense? |
|
There's nothing inherently wrong with promulgating codes on the appearance of businesses, signage, etc., but what does this jackass seriously believe he would accomplish here, even if successful?
If the produce section at the farmer's market on Kirkwood Highway is any indication (where the Best used to be), I look forward to more hispanic oriented businesses in northern Delaware. That place is AWESOME! They have stuff you can't find anywere - you just try finding what you need for oxtail soup at Acme.
I should also put in a plug for El Kukuroo II in Newport. You can't miss it - it's painted screaming yellow. I stopped in there for a bite to eat a couple of weeks back after dropping off one of my sons at the skate park, and they served me a burrito as large as my HEAD! I told the guy they should offer free tequila shots for anyone who finishes one of those.
I just don't get whatever it is these people are afraid of. If I had to list the top ten Elsemere eyesores, this place wouldn't be on the list.
Is he also going after the asian businesses in the vicinity of Value City? (that buffet, btw, is also one of the best dinner values in the county)

3. I will say this much for the building in question in Elsmere |
|
I pass it everyday when I go to work. The front of the building is beautifully done in the colors of the Mexican flag. You can tell they took their time to do it right.
The side of the building, when heading from Wilmington to Newark, is a horrible eyesore. The started doing thick stripes of the Mexican flag colors but I don't know - ran out of paint halfway up the building. You see a few brush strokes of white go up into the Maroon (which I assume was the previous color). I can see a complaint about that paint job - it's not that the colors are horrible but that they did about 2/3rds of the job and gave up. But I see no reason for why that idiot needs to pass town ordinances on color codes. I think the problem could have been easily solved by requesting they finish up the paint job on the side of the building. Of course now that's it's a public issue being pushed by that racist asshole, I'd refuse to paint it just to piss em off.
BTW - whenever you have a free night you should come visit! I'm getting excited to show off the new place!

5. "they did about 2/3rds of the job and gave up" |

Well, dang, they could just drive down to the BP station near Amtrak in the morning and pick up a few guys to finish the job for pretty cheap...
(free nights are off until my cough from the flu goes away)
