John Russell Responds to The Buzz, Ginny Brown-Waite Absent From Vote On Economic Stimulus
†he Media is the problem: Why we have such lousy people in congress. John Russell, 2008 Democrat for Congress in Florida's 5th District provides more insight, for US! :) then :puke: for the situation our political system has put US in.

The Congresswoman who in a debate between us in 2006 stated that our economy was just fine with all of her constituents doing just fine living off their stocks and investments once again proves her stunning ignorance of... things economic.

Having ladled the most affluent among us with massive and demographically disproportionate tax cuts for nearly a decade... with the working class struggling to meet the mere basics, Ginny's recipe of solution is NO SURPRISE...more of the same.

Corporate tax cuts for major corporations most of which endure little or no federal tax burden anyway thanks to Cayman Island HQ's etc.

Yes Ginny is oblivious to the plight of working folks in her district with "official" unemployment numbers solidly in double digits in Hernando county and rapidly approaching such in other counties in her district she is indeed not up to the job when it comes to representing the citizens of District 5. She is however very adept at representing the Insurance industry, Banking/Finance, Petroleum... You get the idea...

Yet the media surprisingly is mostly apologetic for her somewhat less than subtle ignorance, incompetence and surly demeanor.

Once again I got "the knife" early from the media. Having experienced such before I videotaped all of my editorial board interviews. For one of the most enlightening episodes which the public never experiences go to this link and watch as I deal with Times reporter John Frank (author of this article) who I am sure could write the truth if that was what was required.

Instead, John Frank chose or was instructed to write blatant lies about my person and my character.

For example, John wrote on one or more occasions that I had been involved in a "scuffle" and "physical confrontation" with her now late husband.

It is ALL about trashing candidate credibility with the voting public! Trash your credibility and they trash your fund raising as well. That is why I taped these things so the public could see what goes on.

To this day, I have never touched, shook hands with or even come within 3 feet of the late Harvey Waite. So this is what you get when the media works for the agent of big business... Economic policies that do not favor us.

Following her win on election night the congresswoman stated on Bay News 9 that she would not debate me because "He has a propensity for violence." This was also reported in the papers.

No debates attended no debates reported about "congressionally" speaking during the 2008 campaign.

Unemployment solidly in double digits now and who is to blame? Surely not any of our representatives so say the media.

Perhaps if we had candidate debates that were reported on with questions asked and answers of a reasonable nature not provided by the incumbent(as would surely have been the case), more people would have taken a different tact with their congressional vote?

While I was often criticized for having studied the issues too much, my analysis and solutions ignored and never mentioned by the press...and with no analysis and no solutions offered by the incumbent, the public must now pay the price. Sadly I must pay the price as well.

Pathetic policy will continue to adversely effect everyone even those of us relatively insulated from the recession being employed in health care as I am.

Especially Veterans and seniors whose retirement portfolios were so decimated by the myopic policies facilitated by go along get along's such as Ginny... from BOTH parties!
