Man sought after 5 shot in Florida
Source: CNN

(CNN) -- Police in southern Florida were searching Friday for a man in connection with the fatal shootings of four people and the wounding of another.

Detectives in Jupiter, Florida, were looking for Paul Michael Merhige, 35, said Jupiter Police Sgt. Scott Pascarella.

The victims were found Thursday night in a home in Jupiter, he said.

Merhige's 33-year-old twin sisters, Carla and Lisa Merhige, and Ramon Joseph, 76, were fatally shot, Pascarella said. The suspect's 6-year-old cousin, McKayla Sitton, died after being rushed to St. Mary's Medical Center in West Palm Beach.

Another tragedy brought about by a gun.

Do you think the right wing talk show hosts will be screaming about how this was a terrorist act anytime soon?

culture. Not real common there.

10. More likely it's a "whatever" bought upon by the OP's logic-fail.
"Another tragedy brought about by guns." :eyes:

No, by a criminal psycho. We just don't understand blame inanimate tools and not the user.

12. I cannot believe the callous disregard for human life I'm hearing in these responses....
It's all about hidden agendas or assigning blame properly, huh? Some of the responders in this thread sound like they'll go to any lengths to avoid admitting that easy access to a gun made it easy for this guy to kill his family members and other guests. Sure, he COULD have come back and stabbed them all instead, if they'd have waited patiently for their turns, or he could have slipped poison into everyone's second helpings of mincemeat pie, but he didn't. He went and got his GUN, and he SHOT them to death before they could flee. GUNS are uniquely good for committing mass murder before the victims have a chance to get away or respond otherwise.

Sure, the gun was utterly blameless. It played no role whatsoever in those people's deaths. You just go right on believing that.

18. Hello, guess you can't comprehend the OP so here's you a CLUE
The OP was not made in sympathy of the victims, it was blatantly a stab at firearms. If it weren't, the OP would not have whined about a firearm in the first.....oh nevermind, just keep acting ignorant.

in case you missed it:

Another tragedy brought about by a gun.

11. It's their own fault.
How many times do people need to be told that they MUST have loaded guns in the house at all times for protection? They're dead because they didn't listen.

13. Um, no
Another tragedy brought about by a gun.

Most likely it's another tragedy brought about by mental illness or substance abuse.

The gun didn't do anything. It was just a tool.

14. A gun is not a tool, it is a weapon. A hammer or screwdriver is a tool.

21. Nope, according to Merriam-Webster, the main definition of the noun "tool" would include weapons

2 a : something (as an instrument or apparatus) used in performing an operation or necessary in the practice of a vocation or profession <a scholar's books are his tools> b : an element of a computer program (as a graphics application) that activates and controls a particular function <a drawing tool> c : a means to an end <a book's cover can be a marketing tool> d often vulgar : penis

16. So, no mention of what religion the shooter is?
I guess if he doesn't have a Middle-Eastern sounding name, then it's not worth mentioning?
What a frikkin' double standard.
