Lets start now for a DU Amendment on the ballot in '08. |
|
Let's get verified voting paper trail on the ballot in '08. We could have a two-year DU project that would make evoting machines without a voter-verified and recountable paper trail illegal in the state of Florida.
We are still nursing our black eye from 2000, and now the mess in the FL-13th. We could become a voting model for the state.
With the teamwork and legwork that we Florida DUers could provide, we could get this done-- maybe be an inspiration for other states.
I don't want to leave it up to lawmakers to decide on machines that put them in office.

2. You will need over 600,000 signatures to get it on the ballot and |
|
now that Amendment 3 has passed, it will have to be approved by 60% of those voting.

3. I know. The question is whether we have the manpower at DU to |
|
get it done. We have a year and a half.

4. I think starting now while issues are still fresh increases the chances |
|
of getting this done. Most people won't give a rip in a month or so.
